Again, you don't have to sit around your computer all day ... 15 minutes every 6 hours is all that you need... Over and over again... we keep saying the same thing... yet you don't listen...

I'd also like to live in a world where it's socially acceptable to sit on a phone and recruit fake basketball players while at the dinner table - which is where I suspect a lot of folks on the East Coastwould be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on the 24th.

Not only is recruiting on Christmas eve inconvenient, it's cause for bad manners to boot.

It doesn't take me 2hrs to eat. You might want to try a diet for your New Year's resolution.

Yes, I'll give up my Christmas Eve for vacation anytime. Excellent swap imo.

I'll beg to differ... I see tremendous opportunities to recruit.

You're a last minute shopper? That's cool, most locations close @ 6p est on Christmas Eve. That's a great time to do some recruiting while you walk to your car.

Got kids? They should be in bed early and eager to see Santa the next day. You might even hit the 6p-8p cycle if you're good. If not, no biggie, after 9p should be your time.

11p on Christmas Eve, not much happening on TV, might as well take care of that 11-2 cycle.

5a-8a, rise and shine! You can have breakfast ready and the presents under the tree well before the kids get up. As a bonus, this early cycle is a great time to pull ahead in a few battles.

8a-11a, it's time for that lull while everyone is getting ready for the trip to see the family. You're a dude (and I assume not a metro) so you're done in about 20min. The kids and wife are good for another 30-60min, might as well kill some time checking for players falling through the cracks.

2p-5p, excellent time to gap the lunch / dinner, anyone that isn't the German guy in the Snicker's commercial should have a 15-30min window to toss in a few home visits.

8p-11p, it's been a long Christmas, the kids are tired, as is your wife, so no chance for some holiday fun. Maybe a good opportunity to seal the deal on that poor South African recruit that's looking for a chance to play in America.

Feel free to enjoy the rest of your weekend.

christmas is supposed to be about jesus, if any of you are really so busy focusing on your religious faith (not family-time and presents and secular hoopla - those things exist to some degree all 365 days) during the 24th-25th for 48 straight hours that you dont have any time to recruit/gameplan then i'll be quite surprised, and for those who that is the case im sure your desire for religious faith and devotion to God greatly outweighs your concern about fake basketball players and the fake success they bring you.

and yes, i did go there.

They delayed recruiting for like 2 days in IBA a year or so ago so some guy can sit in the dark. Don't remember exactly what it was, but some Jewish holiday that maybe affected 0.2% of its users.

and here I thought christmas was a pagan holiday....

I really don't see the issue with recruiting starting on Christmas Eve. People act like they will be busy EVERY minute of EVERY hour. Instead of watching Christmas Story for the 8th time in a row, just "excuse" yourself for 5 minutes.

There are so many businesses that are open on Christmas and Christmas Eve, why should WIS shutdown? If you don't want to play, then don't play...it really is as simple as that.

And that's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

Would love a glimpse of your life on XMAS Eve. Probably planning a clinic bombing while also debating playing the -5 with your blow-up doll family. It gets real interesting when they actually respond to you.

I would love to see a longer window for the first round of recruiting. For many DI coaches, that is the most important cycle for positioning. The last day could easily be dropped , or else just reduce the number of cycles
folks have long suggested that we be able to post our first cycle moves in advance of the short short short 2 hour first cycle - that would help a lot for Christmas and all kinds of other situations

and lets not forget the expressions of greivances and feats of strength that come with Festivus for the rest of us
