when some folks want to help test your hypothesis and others mock you, you dont advance the ball when you toss around "you guys" as if all who read and post have pre-judged you - you encourage those who stand ready to be convinced to be ticked off every time you throw around the general hostility

if and when you figure out a plan by which folks can help provide info to test what you advocate, please post it - but if you dont come up with a plan, that does suggest that you were big on the arguing and small on the doing

Probably could find a program to go in and pull all the info that is needed.

Use this and just copy paste the whole schedule in. Takes 1-3 mins to copy the schedule as all you have to do is copy and paste and it will put it into the table columns by itself. Only thing that has to be done later is retype the scores into the appropriate box and label it home or away game, but that can be done during the following week after you have all the teams data.

If I was going to do this though I am waiting for Phelan so I can mess around my with numbers with my D2 team instead. I am thinking about trying to write up a script even to do it by itself and pull all this data by just entering the range of team #s
Problem is, with the archaic programs I have, they actually don't paste right...even if I paste to Microsoft word then to the spreadsheet/database its still a fuss.

With that set, I like metsmax's idea that I do the top 25 for a certain world, but I'm only in Tark and already missed out because of the OTR problem, thus I would need a list of the top 25s in Phelan or what have you, but even so, the polls aren't final until the season's over, thus the top 25 would be in some doubt.

The fact that 2 or 3 people really care makes me think that this isn't really worth it. Regardless, I'll still be doing it for my team(s) and frankly that's good enough for me...time will tell what happens. You won't respect me if you don't see it? I don't have it now and don't care to get it really, so what am I losing?

I cannot input 276+ teams worth of scores and overalls by my lonesome, what you're most likely to see is the top 25 or 40 that metsmax suggested...and if that isn't good enough, then tough. If I'm going to do Phelan, I would need to know who the top teams are.

I'm ready to do my team. But missed the end of Knight and so the aggregate team ratings wont help you and I'm not in Phelan. If you come up with a plan that applies to a world that I am in, count me in.

I think my attitude in this thread, at least the initial posts, has been more "eat, drink, and be merry" than "submit your stuff to prove me wrong" but really it works both ways. I'm not only the guy that you love to hate, I'm also the guy that you can and probably will eventually hate to love. A lot of people still have angst over the OTR SOS thread and the all wins rate higher than all losses thread, and I don't quite get that. I'm reasonably "good friends"/cordial with those that I've argued with immensely in the past on here, just not sure when, if ever, we're going to turn the corner here...I'm really not as bad as you think I am...stubborn and set in my ways because of immense research YES....bad, stupid, etc....I don't think so.

let us know the plan - the template isa great help - once a world is decided we can try to get the data

I think looking at the WIS top 25 and comparing to how you would rank them is a perfect, manageable experiment

I want to know exactly how you need the information and what format that you can open? When Knight finishes in another week or 2 right before the NT I will compile every school most likely and then sort out the list.

Let me know, you can site mail me if need be if you don't want to put all the info here in this forum.

I know you guys will probably just say that I'm putting it off, etc. etc. But the easiest/most logical thing for me to do would be to wait until the end of the next Tark season, compile all of the OTRs from one division (probably Division 1 because I'm used to typing those schools names and are very familiar with who are and aren't D1 teams, although D2 might be logical too since I'm in D2) at the end of the regular season sometime when I notice my team "stops practicing" and then after the postseason tournaments conclude, gather the data for the WIS top 25 + others receiving votes and see who stacks up where.

I'm not trying to make excuses for myself, but the final WIS polls are heavily dependent on what happened in the tournament while my rankings will essentially be looking at the tournament as just another game. Like I've said before, I only do my RL rankings through the regular season, but for WIS purposes, that would be too tough to do really, since games are happening in the next half/full day, and because the WIS polls update during the WCAA and PI, which doesn't happen in RL.

Those that can copy and paste easily would be of great help to me just as is, not in my format or anything, just plain old copy and paste. Its a bit of a chore on my end because I have to do it twice because of my archaic programs and the formats are still wacky. Let me take a quick look at Knight and Phelan and get back to y'all.
