I was a little surprised not to see this guy on your list. Ratings are debatable, of course, but I had him rated higher than any of the other SG on your list. Maybe he was #26.

Astro, knowing a little bit how Red rates players and a tiny bit of his system (from what I've figured out so far), Athleticism, is one of the key ratings for every position, and I think his 33 Athleticism brought him down a little bit. How far I don't know, Red may have missed him when he pulled down all the players. His Work Ethic is a quite low also, but it (from what Iv'e figured out) doesn't way as much as Athleticism. I think maybe his 63 Stamina for a guard may have hurt a little also. Me, I try and keep my Ath in the 40's, my WE above 30, and my Stamina above 70.

That makes some sense cm. I too value ATH highly at all positions. However, this guy was ranked #7 at SG:

Minton is good, and as I said, ratings are clearly subjective, but I'd take Hunter over Minton any day of the week.

The guy I liked, and who I tried signing by promising him everything under the sun (including the kitchen sink) when no one was looking at him and whom I couldn't get to give me the time of day, was the #8 guy Lesniak whom Ty over at Goucher some how managed to get on the final day. I was swooning him all 4 days of recruiting when no one was looking at him, made a scouting trip, a home visit, promised a scholarship, playing time, and a starting spot and all I was getting was the flim flam from him. He (all the way up until the second half of the last day) was completley open and never was leaning toward or considering anyone and than after a couple of thousand dollars of recruiting money all of a sudden Goucher shows up on his "Considering List" at the 11th hour. The only thing I can think of is Ty's prestige was what tipped the hat in his direction. If you look at Lesniak's numbers, they line up just like I was saying. Over 40 in both Ath and SP, over 40 in PE, BH, & Pass, over 30 in WE, and over 70 in ST. Why Minton is that high, I don't know unless it's his passing, myself with an Ath score that low, I never would have considered him and would have passed him over, which I did.

I had the #3 rated sg Eshberger and i'd trade him for Hunter in a heartbeat,even throw in two #1 draft picks, I drafted another SG who wasn't rated because he totaled 417 who I prefer over Eshberger

Awesome thread red! Just stumbled upon it today. Thought I was doing a decent job recruiting and this just made me feel even better. Real surprised to see my SF #1 on the list. I liked him a lot, but I wasn't sure how he would stack up with other SF's recruited last season. Recruiting DII in another world it sometimes feels like I'm not getting the guys I need, but the guys I'm getting seem to keep me competitive across the nation. I will inform my conference about this, hope you find time to keep up the good work.

Hadn't been reading this thread in a while and while obviously red baron can better explain things, I'm pretty sure you ran into the same problem I did last season HalfAstros.

I'm pretty sure you pulled down Dennis Hunter because you were all over him before I had a chance to jump in and I don't think your prestige was so much better than mine that it would have given you that much of a head start that I'd never have seen him.

I recruited a player the season before (see page 3) that never dropped to D3. And I'm guessing that's what happened here as well. Hunter never dropped and therefore was "ineligible" for this since he wasn't on the D3 recruit list.

By the way, thanks a lot for pointing out how Isaac Minton is a bad recruit.
