Nice, monkee. Well played.

I thought that was who you were referring to, but sadly he didn't fit into my plans.

it's probably for the best - not sure exactly why but in truth Buck + McAdoo + Marshall seems like a wet hot mess to me

Yes that lineup up front is sort attractive. Kind of like how I look at Pamela Anderson these days. Hot Sweet and Sticky.

Nice to be competing with you again LTB. Bowis basically has sucked the life out of me for several weeks now. The kfunk league is very cool.

Not to side with scudmissle but I am sort of dazed and confused by katernberg's last two picks. The Boerwinkle/Murphy combo mixed with Pryzbilla and Kirelinko ( sorry about the spelling) is kind of like mistakenly thinking that you are staring at the back side of Pamela Anderson but when the chick turns around its Courtney Love! Quite disturbing.

i had to look closely at the guys picking after me and assess what kind of players they needed, and it seemed to me (other than sappy and monkee): banditone, ncih, tricky, capzen, and brad all had their pg's nailed down already... so, i went with thurmond instead of my dishman. i'll keep my fingers crossed he's still there on the turn around.

This is how I see it right now...

*only doing the teams that have drafted four players and that I haven't already done...*

"8) scudmissle - Dennis Rodman, D. Nowitzki, Tracy McGrady, Nate Thurmond"

Let's see... N8-the-Gr8 at C, Nowitzki at PF, worm at SF, McGrady at SG... I don't even care who you take at the point (well, I do, but ya know...) this team already has almost everything, and I know you don't need me to tell you what you're lacking. Great job in what I consider to be a tough draft position.

"9) 98average - Dwyane Wade, Carlos Boozer, Patrick Ewing, A. Robertson"

I like Wade. I like Boozer. I'm higher on Ewing than many. And Robertson is one of my all-time favs (irl, anyway). I don't see it working well in the sim, though. The nice thing is you've drafted a lot of low-minute guys that can easily be paired with your other three picks to totally pick up the slack in the areas you're weak in. Wade/Robertson is a sick backcourt despite the lack of threes. Very nice on boards and defense.

"10) jtred22 - John Stockton, Julius Erving, Cedric Maxwell, Buck Williams,"

This ie exactly the type of team that should do well but inevitably lets me down. Needs threes and rebounds. I'm not sure how you're gonna get both in the next round, but maybe you'll pull out some shenanigans in round 6 and totally make me eat my words.

"11) gtak - David Robinson, Kobe Bryant, David Lee, Lamar Odom,"

I don't know why, but I don't get all warm and fuzzy over this team. I'm not high on either Lee or Odom, but both fit nicely with the other pieces you have. Admiral is one of my favorite sim foundations, so that's great, and the right Kobe season will make your round five pick pretty easy. Only glaring thing I see atm is a lack of threes. And threes should be easy to come by for you in your next pick. So, again, I don't know why I don't like this team more than I do, because it's built well...

"12) lhtgk - Charles Barkley, Fat Lever, Michael Redd, Emeka Okafor,"

damn. He can still draft a C, PF or SF. Or SG. OR PG!! Wow... incredible start, neil. And it's not like you've sacrificed... anything... to have that flexibility. My guess is a scorer with some decently high ast% in round 5. Also will have plenty of room in round 6 to make some moves. Incredible draft thus far considering you're dead in the middle (not to mention ProxyGate).

"13) chester_o - Abdul-Jabbar, C. Billups, Red Robbins, Marques Johnson"

This team strikes fear into my heart. The only consolation is that at this point in time, he doesn't have many threes (just Mr. Big Shot). Hey guess what there's still 3 more picks to be had...

"14) macphisto - Bob McAdoo, Gary Payton, Donyell Marshall, Derek Harper,"

This team makes zero impression on me. And that could be a good thing. Let's see... you should be okay on boards (assuming your round five guy provides you some beef). You've got a few threes with Harper, Marshall and the Glove... Pretty good tov%, decent efg%... doesn't seem like a lot of trips to the line. I think round five is *real* important to you.

"15) vancem - Shaquille O'Neal, Bill Walton, Brent Barry, Mark Price"

This looks like a killer $42-mill team. I think you've got something up your sleeve for round six to make this a killer $52-mill team. I dread seeing what comes next.

"16) uvasooner I - Kevin McHale, Jason Kidd, Bob Lanier, Anfernee Hardaway"

This doesn't make sense to me with how the sim currently works. Very little threes, reasonably high tov%... Not killer on the boards, but will stay pretty consistent there... But I have no doubt it will be very successful. As I said before, uva builds teams that flat out kick ***.

"17) empdenied - Larry Bird, Kevin Willis, Harry Gallatin, Reggie Miller,"

Reggie was the perfect pick here with what was . I think you're gonna have a lot of money to spend in rounds 5 and 6, though... Better figure out how to get the most out of that extra cash.

"18) garyman - Tim Duncan, Shawn Marion, Maurice Cheeks, Brandon Roy,"

I'm pretty sure you and I need the same player in round five, but you draft first. I like this team. A smidge short on 3s atm though (neither Roy nor Marion will carry you), but you've got a decent amount to easily build on with later picks.

"19) dh555 - Bill Russell, Spencer Haywood, Jerry West, M. Blaylock,"

That squad looks awesome on paper, with exception of efg%. Neither of your primary scorers is a bomber, and the bomber you do have is your pg who shoots them at a low %. Still, you've got a lot of good to build around. I think your round five could potentially make or break this team.

"20) chris_snid - Karl Malone, Dikembe Mutombo, Darrell Walker, G. Wallace,"

Crash was not the direction I thought you'd go for, especially since you have almost zero threes between the other 3 players. I'm sure this is a team I'll go something like 1-7 against.

(I did omegax's, kat's and I'm not talking too much about mine)

"23) uvasooner II - Kevin Garnett, Artis Gilmore, Walt Frazier, T. Porter"

Again. I won't pretend to understand his greatness. Lots of defensive boards (good!), lots of assists (good!), a little short on threes and a little short on ftas. He still has a slot for a high usage guy, though, and it could go at the 2, 3 or 4 and there are options out there that can shore up the only real weaknesses that I saw. I'm sure he'll draft someone that I scratch my head over and proceed to beat me into a bloody pulp.

I wanted Manu Ginobili and Frazier or Jerry West.
They were gone, so I thought I might as well go ALL OR NOTHING!!

I just don't like half-done jobs...

a little surprised sappy went went reed after having lebron, allen and parish as scorers.

monkee set himself up well to draft brandon (and his limited minutes) when he snagged anthony mason. u knew he was gunnin' for terrell. nice.

hondo and webber teams up with moses, pippen and barros? hmmm... wonder what uva will say about that. 5 shooters who turn the ball over a bunch (there, i said it). i'm sure there's an efg% issue as well.

clifford ray was a pretty good choice, but, um... well...

1/22/2010 2:41 PM
def curious to see how ncih picks the rest of the way

he started out exactly like i did in the bowis draft except he has jordan instead of lebron

already like the fact he went with the best defensive rebounder available in ray...my team ended up short on boards and im thinking ncih isnt going to make the same mistake
1/22/2010 4:11 PM
remember "that guy" I was talking about? You know, the one who gave you a ton of boards, along with turnovers and fouls?

Yeah, that'd be Ray. And about 66 other guys lol. But Ray was exactly the one I was thinking of when I made that comment lol.
1/22/2010 4:21 PM
I wouldnt want to meet monkee's team in a dark alley - that is alot of beef on that front line - Wilt's wilt and both Wes and Mason are wider than some guys are tall

He's among the best of the crop that's , though.

I love and fear my starting five - D. Howard, Nater, Jamison, M. Miller, and Deron.

Strong rebounding, solid defense and decent offensive balance. On the other hand, usage is a little high, turnovers could be a problem and FTAs seem low. Not going to force a lot of turnovers, and I have too much money on the table.

Well, live and learn. Maybe we'll get to play late-season spoiler.

your usage is fine.
