Yes, and I dont know what kind of team you walked into but in a new world it will take a little time to organize your levels and get things the way you want them. Not as bad as taking over a neglected team though.

You will still inherit bad contracts, you will still have guys playing wrong positions but over all it is a fun experience.

And the benefit to a new World is that everyone is in the same boat to varying degrees. I've started multiple new Worlds and while it's not really fair to say everyone starts on equal footing, it is fair to say that no one starts out exactly how they would like. There are always some bad contracts and/or major holes, even if you are dealt a good overall hand.

When you take over a neglected team, you generally have similar problems, but the difference is that other well-run teams in the World are often already in a good spot, money/talent wise.

I think Taint was in the one that was created at the start with live players. We did this at the very beginning...most only stayed for a few seasons and that was it. It is time consuming at the beginning, but it does even out. Problem with us live players is that we spend alot of our free time managing live games...that is the one thing I find hard is the balancing act. I want to get on live and get some games in, but I need to go and manage my HBD teams otherwise I do it during a live game and some guy will bunt on me to win the game

I agree with that habs, that is the main reason I cut back on teams. At one point I had 3 at a time but I dropped down because between hectic life at home and paying live 3 was too many.

I do still pick up an abandon team here and there and play out the season with them. Helping out leagues and getting a chance to learn more about the game never hurt.

That accounts for all of the one and dones I have.

Can't wait to get this thing started. Wish we didn't have to wait till June.

While I understand the excitement I do want to carefully screen owners. Not being able to start for a few weeks anyway I see no rush to just fill up.

Alright I'm in, as you can tell I'm a rookie. I think I'll go back to where I watched my first "professional" game ever Cooper Field/Stadium (my grandma took me when I was like 6) I believed they closed her down this year and built a new staduim downtown. If I am reading that right I could be either East or North and would prefer NL but will go where you need me.

I'd think I'm ready to try this new idea. I'd be a rookie...and I'd take Montgomery (Riverwalk Stadium). No real league preference.

Sent out a slew of SMs today, if you have not received a SM from me and do not see yourself listed under the HBD Orginizational thread please shoot me a SM.

Still waiting to hear from a few guys on a few things as we move closer to filling.

Also I believe the rule is one new owner per division so we may have to align accordingly.

Alias?

Someone with NO wis experience whatsoever doesn't just join a brand new HBD league whose league is forming in a DIFFERENT forum than normal leagues.....

Very fishy.....

I am a co-worker of philogenemay who just started in Kenny Powers world.

I've been watching his team since the beginning of that world and HBD seems pretty damn cool to me.

He told me that this new world was being formed and that they REQUIRE 8 new guys and it would be a much better way to start off than taking over some abandonded team. He also said that they haven't started any new worlds in over a year and that this will probably be the last one for awhile.

So I want in.

Please.
