And as I have always said spending comes from the House, as per the Constitution.

The Debt has always skyrocketed when Democrats control the house and maintained while Republicans control the house.
And I'll continue to shoot down your theory with the simple fact that the Senate has an equal vote on budgets and spending bills and the President has veto power, both of those were GOP controlled during the Reagan years.
Seriously.  That House/spending argument is crazy...is that another GOP website talking point?  That's just weird.

Article 1 Section 7

"All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives"

From a little thing called the Constitution.
Yes, and the Senate can make changes and has equal voting power plus the President has veto power.  What part of that is difficult to understand?
This.  Seriously, Swamp, how does this not make sense to you?  In effect, they're equal bodies.  This was an absolute short-coming of the Constitution.  Probably made sense at the time because of the different characters of the two bodies, but from a practical point of view it doesn't matter where the bill originates when there are three checks (plus the SC) on it getting through.

By all means, get rid of the EPA!!  We're tired of them snooping around in matters such as this.....

By FREDERIC J. FROMMER (AP) – 13 hours ago

WASHINGTON — The Environmental Protection Agency wants to regulate a toxic chemical used in rocket fuel that has contaminated drinking water supplies, reversing a decision made under the Bush administration.

A government official briefed by the EPA told The Associated Press on Thursday night that the agency has proposed that the chemical, perchlorate, be regulated under the Safe Drinking Water Act. The official, who did not want to be named because a final decision has not been made, said the plan is now under interagency review.

Perchlorate has been found in drinking water in at least 35 states at levels high enough to interfere with thyroid function and pose developmental problems in humans, particularly for babies and fetuses.

The point is that we have had Dem and Pub Presidents and Dem and Pub Senates, but for a long stretch the Dems ONLY controlled the one place where all Revenue bills originate. This is what put us in this position, frog on a hot plate style.

Slowly the government took more and mroe freedom and more and more money.

"Slowly the government took more and mroe freedom and more and more money."

So why do you support the Patriot Act then?

And as you can see, by the chart provided, when the Dems controlled that one place, the national debt was always on a downward trend.

Other than the last four years of course . . . . . . . . . .

If Swamp is ignorant to the equal power that the Senate and President hold in budgets and appropriations then there really isn't a point in arguing any further.  If the Democrats put together a spending bill during the Reagan administration that the GOP disagreed with, then the Senate could have amended it and the President could have vetoed it.  The GOP had more power over the process than the Dems did.  It's that simple.

I always knew that Swamp was blindly partisan, but I wasn't aware of his complete lack of knowledge in how a bill is passed.  I thought we learned that in elementary school.

If not elementary school then that stuff on ABC. Was that called school house rock or something else?

We all know how a bill becomes a law. The issue is if one party controls the 1st step in the process for an entire generation they can slowly add a little more and a little more. Every spending bill has some small thing. Every time another small step.

And we end up here with a mountain of debt and cradle to grave Central Government oversight of every aspect of our lives!
