I believe nonBSC schools will continue to get high rankings and high tourney seeds.  This is due to the lack of humans at NonBCS schools as described by Rails.  The disparity, I believe, will become apparent in the NT when the high ranked/high seed NonBCS school with a shiny 25-5 record and top 10 ranking gets hammered by a double digit seed BCS school in the 1st or 2nd round.
I was 24-5 at Wyoming and made it to the Final Four, in the Final Four lost in OT to LSU. I beat both non BCS and BCS teams to get the the final four.

The difference is you need to prepare many seasons managing scholarships to get a good NC team.  The same is true at schools in BCS conferences that have low prestige.

The only teams exempt from this are the A and A+ teams who fight for the very top tier recruits.

Four (Pacific, Cal-Riverside, BYU, and Houston) made the Sweet 16, with Pacific advancing to the Elite Eight

In Wooden, 5 non-BCS teams have advanced to the 2nd round. Two of them face each other so there'll be at least one in the Sweet 16

top 40 teams in the polls in Crum includes 2 non Big-6ers...... hmmm 38-2,
as the last few mid-majors graduate 4-5 seniors of old-school recruits... one more season may see a couple worlds just be 40-0.

or one might want to wait for more than one game to have been played in Crum - other worlds seem to be producing rather different results when measured after there actually is somewhat useful data

The problem is worst than that.  Imagine a full human world of midmajors.  The midmajor talent pool would be diluted further and the better midmajors today would have more competition for worthy recruits.  As it is with 50% sims, the 50% human midmajors compete for worthy recruits against less competition.  Based on the number of humans you would think that human midmajors should makup 40-50% in the NT due to the fact that 50% of the midmajors are sims.

LOL, Emy and I shouldn't be allowed to have more than one ID... we can't keep em straight.

Metz,,, some might argue that the first few polls may actually be a better poll of who the top-40 teams are talent wise than some of the later ones after manipulated rpi's and losses to conference mates weigh in on the poll.

polls after one game better indicators of team quality than late season rpi or postseason bids/success?  I beg to differ

polls mean nothing.  its all about the NT.  those are the results that matter.

To be fair this is still only the 2nd season in Naismith. You still have a lot of teams relying on old recruit generations.

More humans would spread the midmajor talent pool.  As you point out, a human coach is better because he/she recruits better.  100 worthy recruits divided by 100 midmajor teams is more per than 100 worthy recruits divided by 250 mid major teams.

In Wooden, two non-BCS teams are in the Sweet 16... #2 seed Gonzaga and #4 Murray St.

pre-season top 25 div 1 in phelan you have to go to number 38 or so in the teams getting votes before you find anything resembling a mid-major
