EVAL for sixernuggets -
Walt Bellamy, Nate Thurmond, Walt Frazier, Elgin Baylor, Henry Bibby, Kyle Korver, Dale Ellis
on paper, this squad gives total firepower, punch, boards and many headaches for opponents. however, the sim penalizes bellamy and thurmond too much for my tastes. the frontcourt is a good example of looking at totals and forgetting about %'s, though thurmond is a great big man for low t.o.'s and fouls with good asts and fta's (and a couple of good ft%). i'd definately stay away from his top season. he will not come close to 17 boards a game. bellamy will foul out often (more than hakeem does) and turns the ball over more than his rl numbers. not a big fan of your front court, sixers. however, i love frazier. there are 2 great seasons for him. that 24 ppg one is a gem. good %'s and boards. fta and ft% are sweet. elgin will be a mystery for you. however, i think if you use his awesome 2200 minute version, he will calm down and play well with the others. if you choose that monster season of his, he will definately take away from the others, and you want dale ellis and korver shooting from the outside a lot. i don't know much about henry bibby though i used to watch him on tv. he had that crazy hair for a while. i do know though, his %'s are low (fg and usage) and he is mediocre at everything else, including def. i have never seen him used in a 52 mil league before. in fact, i have never seen him used in any league. as a back-up, there were others to choose from (including his son). dale ellis is a great pick up for you. if you can rein in elgin's penchant for shooting, or at least reduce the number of times he shoots in a game, you might find ellis will become quite valuable for you. korver is efficient and nice to have when you are playing catch up at the end of games. if you set your 3 pt offense "when trailing" mins and points correctly, good chance ellis and korver will be shooting and not baylor or thurmond. yes to bellamy and ellis. i love the frazier and ellis picks. mixed about baylor (though he is unstoppable). not a fan of your frontcourt in a league like this, especially when your big men play so many minutes. i would suggest the 2200 min thurmond season, the 2200 min baylor season, bellamy's big season and let your other dogs run. this could be a preety good team, or it could be a total stinker clouded by unrealistic rl numbers and poor fg%. 50-50 if you make the playoffs. gl2u.
