Been wanting to try both Hakeem and Love for a while, and ended up doing both at once. The result will probably be mediocre, but it was more exciting than drafting Jerry Lucas to go with Hakeem (which probably would have been a better pick).

I zeroed in early on Batum's 13-14 season as the perfect SG season for my club...then Barry fell to me in the 4th and I couldn't resist. So I took Batum anyway, and he'll back up both SG and SF (Barry will back up Frazier at the point). I like both players, but my rebounding will suffer grabbing them both. When Batum is playing SF (which he'll do for 15 minutes) my orb% might be under 30%, which is extremely low for this league. There will be a lot of short-minute ORB% coming off the bench, though (I need about 1800 more minutes).

There's a chance I could go with Barry's great 1800-min season (63% efg, 25% ast) and divert the extra minutes to getting more defense, as I don't have enough.

As most everyone knows I'm not happy with my SF, had three guys that I wanted and they were all taken just before my 5th round pick  Think this is a good team but not a championship team IMO

Looks like a pretty decent squad. As you say, the weak spot is ORB% with the defense not much more than OK. Picking up some off the bench ORB% minutes helps some, but they are not going to be coming off the bench during the end of a close game- the time those ORBs are desperately needed.  That being said, the pieces fit and the team seems balanced. The  post-season is not in Hakeem's DNA here, but if you're not in a division with monster ORBers I think you'll be competing for a 6 seed playoff spot.

This thing started with shaking and sputtering like my ol'  '63 Rambler American, starting on a cold January morning. Ben Wallace, for all his pluses, creates an immediate need for usage. McHale would have been nice, but Lucas fits right in with a Rambler and should provide enough up front scoring and gives me a jump start on the rebounds. McGrady and West give us some high octane offense that offsets the purely defensive driving orientation of Big Ben. That engine is purring now. Silas was not an option we were looking for, but Weatherspoon, McCray and Hot Rod were gone from the lot before we had a chance to get there.  Though Tyler would be an OK fit giving us a bit more D at SF, but Leibowitz grabbed him and then complains about it. Damn.  Our D is a 74.2 with the starting 5. Not great, but with a low turnover rate and not fouling very much, you'll have to earn your points. Silas, at least, does give us some more bounds although he's only a 99% fit in his seat.  Price gives us some spark off the bench although he is not a defensive plug. I like the backseat rotation of  McGrady, West and Price. McGrady will sit up front for a few minutes to spell Silas.  Wallace is the defensive driver so he'll obviously be at the wheel. Varejao is a good all- around backup who should fit in pretty well. That's it . The Rambler seats 7 and that'll fill all 48 minutes so I have a feeling the 5 cheap guys in the trunk won't be seeing much action.  .  Playoffs? ...Well it's an 82 game road, that's a long ride for an old Rambler.

Bledsoe and Millsap aren't world-beaters on defense, but give me some more 3s and provide quality minutes. They also continue the team trend of "scoring by commitee"

why thank you scud...i like them too...backcourt d is a little weak tho

Lol.

My team is listed twice. I'm assuming that my team is so dynamic that it was on his mind even when he was listing the non-winners. We're all agreed that I'm making the playoffs.
11/16/2014 9:41 PM
Just wondering what do you not like about my team scud?
11/16/2014 9:54 PM
Literally everything is a positive for my team. The only thing that could bring this team down is if I draft my bench porley which is very possible
11/16/2014 9:57 PM
Lol scud. It could be surprising that I make it in the playoffs
