Maybe in the future I will consider sending teams back for too few innings in general, not just extreme leagues like the 90M one. 1,269 is just not enough at 130M
It might've been without the DH, but either way, I'm surprised to see this much damage so early. Maybe in the second half. But these are very high quality innings in a pitchers park. I don't feel like the slide should've started so soon.

Just for fun here's a bet: If you can finish over .500 with 1,275 or fewer innings in a 130M or higher open style league (regardless of DH), I will pay for your team. Caveat being no funky strategies (i.e. using guys like Randy Winn's monster partial season and only focusing on winning 2/3 of your games).

In one league, I have 6 starters in my rotation, all set to not be used in relief. Why is it that whenever a game goes long and necessitates the use of a starter, Sparky always uses the one slotted to start the next game? It's absurd.

I would love to know this as well. It is baffling but it seems to happen consistently enough that it feels intentional.

I suspect the algorithm goes to the most rested pitcher when comparing equal fatigue levels, which usually means the next starter.

Is this also a good time to ask why the sim will use every last bench player to rest starters and leave no one available to pinch hit for pitchers in the late innings?

That's it guys. After going 2-4 for like 10 straight sessions and now 0-6. Blowing multiple 6 run leads and that isn't even in the Coors experiment. I am done. Just putting all my teams on auto-pilot the rest of the way and find something better to do with my time.

I hope you change your mind. You're over .500 overall with two teams doing extremely well. You have an excellent chance of advancing.

Agreed with redcped - you are only 6 games back of the Top 24, magic dreamer. There are definite ebbs and flows during the season.
  • markeking lost 98 games during the first 162 despite a pre-rank of 19. He has the 14th best record since then
  • brianjw is in 15th right now. I don't think it's likely he ends up there

Why do those 19 inning bullpen killers only happen to teams that already have pitcher fatigue issues? Seems like it's Sparky's way of saying "you should've drafted more innings dumb@$$!"

I feel like this at least one session a day in this thing!! I can't even seem to get to .500 which is really frustrating. Just keep plugging away man, this tournament has many of the most experienced and successful WIS owners so it's going to be a grind. Don't give up.

Won 4 of my last 7 in the $130M league. Looks like my strategy for quelling the death spiral could actually keep that team from killing me.

This comes with the caveat that it is early, but after never having any team in any WIS make the playoffs, I have a shot at 3 teams reaching the post-season. The other 3 teams are a combined 52 games under .500 already! Not sure if this is progress, but it is nice to see I am learning a bit over the years...

1-11 over the last 2 cycles. The rapid descent has begun.
