Is it getting harder to make the cage? I seem to remember more teams clustered around.500. Now they cluster around .490 and the top teams pulling away more.

pfan, the cage is the top 24. Those who would qualify for the second round if the season ended today.

The difference between 6th place and 42nd is currently 14 wins (2.3 wins per team), which boils down to a lot of luck. Some excellent owners will not be moving on to round 2. Buckle up for the rollercoaster ride to come.
