The honorable unranked magnificent 8 - Pink Floyd .....George Harrison.......Tom petty....ramones........blondie......steely Dan.......patti smith.........yes.

admittedly Dark Side of the Moon is as good as it gets but overall Pink Floyd falls just below top 12.

Steely Dan and Pink Floyd certainly deserve consideration.

Margo Price has a 2020 album. It’s ok not great but the title track thats how rumors get started is just great
and deserves a listen.
I think one of the best songs of 2020.

John Prine was a huge fan of Margo Price. That's enough for me to check her out!

Is anyone here a fan of great garage rock from the seminal Who and the Sonics and of course the Stones through Troggs and Iggy Pop and Aerosmith and Ramones and Clash to the present.

chime in and clatter in.

The Who is one of my favorite bands. I think Pete Townsend is one of the best song writers around, or at least he was. I liked early Stones, not so much for their later stuff.I can take or leave the rest of them. They all had some good songs but were not consistent IMO

The Sonics were an American band and formed in 1960 but their debut was not until 1965 and they only had 3 albums all great until the end in 1969.
a new and very close to the original band was formed about 10 years ago and had a fantastic album the entire original band would be proud of.

...the new Sonics album came out in 2015. The core 3 of the band is there with a new drummer and bass. The vocals are strong and true. I hope there will be another album but 4 amazing albums.

the Sonics were really the first true garage punk band even before the British my generation and were the trailblazers.

if you have Spotify premium it is worth it if only for a taste of rock and roll history to say play the Sonics on Spotify.

Steve Forbert had a 2020 release Early Morning Rain - it is a collection of covers and very Americana roots and country and even a little rockabilly....the cover of
Good Time Charlie Has The Blues is considered one of the standouts and has been praised as haunting.
he also had a 40 year anniversary reissue of jackrabbit slim/ live jackrabbit slim/live on arrival

the reissue of live in arrival is the Japanese masters and as some of you know Japanese masters are usually better then American.

Used a capo on Good Time Charlie, surprisingly. Love Forbert. Nice guy, too. But with grit.

Me too. He didn’t pan out as the next Dylan but that’s ok. He has had a great career as Steve Forbert a darned underrated American gem.

Forbert is one of my favorites too

An unheralded but clearly one of the finest Americana rock albums of 2020 was sophomore offering of Aubrey Sellers - Far From Home.
and it has fuzz!

Segway into netflix

netflix is gaining a reputation of cancelling popular shows without even resolving them.
they drop programs as doin as they become more expensive damn the customer base.

I left Netflix a year ago and lots of articles about this are now coming out.
you can’t trust Netflix.
