82 Dodgers win again. Mike Scioscia still has not started a game. Guess we didnt want to pull him off his hunting trip.

95 M's 2
82 LAD 5

Zero clutch hitting from the M's in the semis against Fernando and the 82 Dodgers. 11 hits, a couple walks and only two runs scratched across. 5-2 win from the Dodgers. Randy wasn't all that good either, but he went 8 innings.

Well RJ did mannage to walk Fernando with 2 outs and the bases loaded for the 5th run.

Like I said, not all that good. But he gets credit for longevity.

We’re down to nine, so off to Springfield we go. In honor of The Simpsons ‘Talking Softball’ episode, each Survivor will pick one of the nine guest stars from the show and we will play a tournament for immunity. No tribes in this challenge.

This challenge will give an edge to those who have done best in the game so far. The nine players will be drafted and you will each choose one team featuring your player. The same starting pitcher can be used as often as you want, but normal relief-pitching rules apply. It will be a single-elimination bracket, with a play-in game for the eighth spot in the tournament. The two owners with the lowest winning percentage in the game will play in that contest, with the winner moving into the tournament and the loser going to Exile Island. Home team for each game will be determined by random.org. The matchups will be seeded 1 vs. 8, 2 vs. 7, 3 vs. 6, 4 vs. 5 based on Survivor 3 records through the first eight challenges.

The winner of the tournament will get individual immunity, and a Tribal Council will send one of the other eight players home.

The deadline for the first pick will be midnight Tuesday, with a maximum of 12 hours allotted after each pick for the next player to go. Feel free to use proxies (sitemail to me and anyone who has already picked), and please sitemail the players picking behind you to keep things moving along.

trop, you were saying?

I beat the three seed and advanced farther than the two seed. I'll take that.

Not to mention, wasn't it the bullpen that was going to be my undoing? I thought the bullpen was, and I believe I'm quoting now when I say you said, "I dont see anyway that pen wont be your undoing."

Considering they had two innings of shutout work with 4 Ks, I will go ahead and again say...well....

lol...you are right on that point, but had you played a team with some real offense in their lineup that pen may have had to pitch more innings for you.  Ozzie's Cards should have been the last team taken.

wow taint, you didnt go with the 85 Dodgers!!  That team was stacked.  Great SP too.  Other than Gooden with the Mets, I think that Hershiser was probably the next best SP.

Well since Taint and I both passed on the 85 Dodgers I can address it from my point of view.

1. The difference between Orel and Fernando was negligible but Fernando is a Lefty.
2. In my case the 82 defense while not amazing is ahead of the 85 team which is flat out bad.
3. The bullpen in 82 has 3 guys who are better than the best option on the 85 team. If I get behind I want the option of pinch hitting every time for my pitcher, even if it is the 3rd inning and I am down 5-1.

For those reasons you can look past the offense and find something else.
