I have a question..  What are we going to do when theres a handful of teams that cant be assembled due to all of this dumbshit posturing?  My team should be fine (fingers crossed) but Do you really think the teams that are at the back end of multiple screw over your neighbor rounds have the flexiblility to add in 10-20M of garbage salary..  We will either be making a concession to them or will be looking for replacement owners.  Just something to think about when you guys are trying to cleverly screw over each other.

I'm sorry, but when I draft players, I know there are in many cases several versions of seasons for those guys, for their particular team.  I know I will select a player with an available lower salary, over a guy with one high priced season.  This is part of the process and planning for this league.  I am sure salary can be widdled down by not taking the best version.  There has to be a benefit of not using the wild card and reverse right away.

Personally I would have liked to have had no limits on the amount of Reverses used in a round......With the amount of teams to choose from, it would have brought more variety to the league.

maybe next time

I do the same, but I assure you that is not the case with all teams.
Now when we get to the end and if there are a few teams that can't be pieced together, what will we do?  We can't just give these teams a pass becasue that wouldnt be fair to the teams that are more prepared to shuffle seasons around to compensate.

If a team can't make it in under the cap, the penalty is replacing a high-salary player with a cheaper player. In drafting, you have to make sure you have the ability to get stuck with a high-priced piece of crap. In a past UNO, I had to replace a $6M Amos Otis I had planned to use with the $259K version to get under the cap. If by "dumbshit posturing" you mean picking teams like the Alleghenys, isn't that exactly why we sign up for UNO in the first place?

Here's the relevant portion of the rules: "*All owners will have to be careful not to exceed the 120 cap at any time during the draft.  This could result in forfeiting a pick and replacing him with someone of lesser value."

In past unos the reverse card was more valuable. The ability to use the WC multiple times in a round lessened the value on a reverse card and also forced teams to save the WC into the later rounds, I'm just saying if somebody gets stuck with an ed morris size contract we will have an issue.

It won't be an issue, since Ed Morris was a wild card selection by Toddleduc. Leaving, Pete Meegan as the most expensive option of the round at $5.2 million.

The majority of salary issues can be fixed, by teams biting the bullet and taking a lesser year on a few of their stars. Just as habsfan1 said, this has always been part of the pains and joys of Uno. It's highly unlikely for a team to not have multiple, available guys to shuffle seasons around to pinch salary. The issue hasn't arose in any of the previous Unos I have been in. If that is the case this season then, we'll address the issue when we come to it.

The thing about this draft is, each version of it is an update from the last. With the owners wanting to try something new, to better the league. And these are all points to think about for the next one. Possibly changing how WC's and reverses are used round to round, to increase each of their values. Maybe editing the list of available teams as well. So we have a better chance of pulling from just about all of them. The only issue with that, would be keeping an eye on the shrinking roster sizes of teams later on, from previous picks. Food for thought as we move forward.
