I did a lot of work trying to figure that out and still wasn't 100% certain.   But, if what I did was right(and still applies), Power/Split/Baserunning/Speed in that order.  There were just so many outliers in the 20ish seasons of data that I used that I just couldn't lock it down.    I thought baserunning and speed would play a bigger part but it just didn't seem to.

Picked up an abandoned team with an SP, drafted 5th overall (now 29) who was arb'ed three times. Message says, "Arb me 3 times, will ya? You f*** with me, I'll f*** with you. Ask my bud MikeT how stupid it was to do that. I'm outta here."

Well, I know how stupid that was, but I have another question: If I trade him, might he sign with the new team or is he likely to declare he'll file for free agency, no matter what?

At what point in the HBD season (e.g., 130 games played, 140...) should one stop hoarding prospect money hoping for a stud IFA, and just sign his mediocre draft picks and start buying up the AAAA-type IFA talent that's still available?

I've never heard of those guys having a change of heart.   They're stubborn and irrational.

Good looks, intelligence and charm.   And, no, you can't have any.

When the minor league season ends.   That's the last of the IFA as I understand it.

I'm pretty sure Nixon is dead.   But you could demand that he confirm it.
