It certainly looks like the perfect game was taken from him by a bad call. However, he didn't seem all that upset in the post-game interview. He knows what he did. Can't take that from him.

Just a fluke. I don't think offenses are worse or that the strike zone was extended. It's like flipping a coin 50 times and it coming up heads 50 times.

Why do umpires seem to be in the spotlight more, such as Cowboy Joe West and Bill Hahn and their antics?

Will there be a backlash at the Tigers after Leyland and company gave the umpiring crew heck after Galarraga's feat was minimized?

Ego and media attention. Some of the umps want to be the show and, when the media latches onto something, they get their wish.

No. But an IFA was sent straight to the big in Coop. Fausto something. There's a thread about him.

Cal started juicing later in his career to keep the streak alive. Griff started juicing early to hit homers. I'd say Griffey did the better juice-job.
