I agree with Damag. It’s looks on the surface like he’s getting a much better end of that deal. Both players that you’re receiving are fringe big leaguers for a legit reliever.

Thanks damag.

On the topic of vetoing, I feel like a lot of owners don't do it. I will admit I am a vetoer. Don't do it all the time, mostly on salary dumps when the guy taking on the money isn't getting a prospect in return. If you're going to take on salary at least get a guy back who might have some ML success along the way.

I would not veto but the guy your giving up is legit so why trade him.

No deal. Don't do it.

I don't veto much but I don't also really subscribe to the frequently stated "it's two veteran owners, let them do what they want" philosophy. If it upsets competitive balance I'll veto, but not often. More often do it when a newbie is obviously getting hosed.

So question regarding injuries and playoffs. We just secured a spot with 4 games left but a slugger just got hurt for 33 days. Now we are a wild card team and likely won't advance very far but if we are able to- how many HBD days until the WS? Anyone have that number?

Follow up- does the 60 day injury move work over the off season? If I put him on the 60 now, will be get the two recovery cycles or just one?

7 Wc +1 off + 7Div.+ 1 off + 9LCS+ 1 off =26 then WS
plus your games until the WC round starts

So I could put him on the 15 day DL and then he could potentially play when we meet in the WS .

Anyone had success using the Rule 5 position settings? It seems pretty straight forward - kind of just want a sanity check that it's actually going to work. I've only ever just put a number under Any. For example, was thinking that if I put my target position for SS as 1 with a cutoff of the first 10 players I have ranked, and I put just one SS in the first 10 players it'll pick that guy if he is there, otherwise it won't pick a SS (and won't pick anyone else unless I have other targets listed).

I usually manually rank the few that are capable of playing on my ml team and set the cutoff to not exceed them. There are always guys listed at ss that are no where near a ss.

For rule 5 since there are few players I'm really interested in, I don't usually touch position rankings and just rank the players I would want to take using the cutoff. Usually relievers, hi 90s power hitter with bad eye and/or contact, and sometimes a SS who usually can't hit.

I will manually rank too, I just want 1 of 3 P, 1 of 3 C’s, 1 of 3 IF etc. I don’t want to end up with 3 Ps and have to cut 2 but missed out on a C because the ordering was wrong-that kind of thing

I know the general thinking is that a pitcher needs a full day on 100% before he is TRULY 100% ... BUT, if he has to go without that full day ahead of time, does he need a reduced pitch count or risk losing effectiveness?

I’m talking about my ace in a potential World Series Game 7, so some of the usual considerations don’t apply.

I believe in it. But if the second option is substantially less then I even run my ace at 90%. Link the options for a better answer.

Game 7, I'm sending my big guy out full MadBum. Up the pull rating in case it goes sideways. All hands on deck.

Game 6 is in the PM2 cycle today. My ace is at 84% and will be 100% for Game 7 during the AM cycle, if I can force it: https://www.whatifsports.com/hbd/Pages/Popups/PlayerRatings.aspx?pid=8544043

He’s starting. I’m just asking if he will tire and lose effectiveness more quickly. In the regular season I run his pitch count at, like 105-110. What is a good count to use in this situation. Pretty good bullpen behind him.
