The President Keeps the Pressure on China

Aug 9, 2019

RUSH: Okay. Let’s get to the audio sound bites of Trump’s impromptu, 38-minute little confab with the Drive-By Media. Again, he was on the way to the Hamptons. He’s got two fundraisers. He was gonna get up there and attend a breakfast at the home of Steve Ross (the owner of the Miami Dolphins) and the other places that came under protest today, SoulCycle and Equinox. They were trying to shame Ross into canceling it because who wants to host a fundraiser for a neo-Nazi white supremacist, and everybody told everybody to go pound sand.

Later on, there’s something later this afternoon that Trump is attending. A grand total of $11 million will be raised. Again, they tried to shame everybody involved into canceling it, including Trump, and the hosts — another guy named Joe Farrell and Steve Ross — both held firm, as did Trump, and that’s the way you have to play it. You cannot give these people a centimeter, folks. You cannot! Those days should be over — the days of trying to calm them down, trying to show them that we’re not what they say, trying to make deals, trying to bring about peace.

It ain’t gonna happen.

And this is not pessimism. It’s reality.

So the president started here with China. He is dead set on winning this trade war with the ChiComs. Now, the thing about this that I think will go over a lot of people’s heads unless there’s somebody like me explaining this, is he takes what to most people is a complex issue: The China trade deals. I mean, it is a miasma to a lot of people. It’s so convoluted and confusing that nobody knows really what the stakes are. Why is it happening? What’s it all about? Trump takes this complex issue that nobody has even paid attention to for decades and does his best to make it understandable and important, and here is how that sounded.

THE PRESIDENT: We’re talking to China. We’re not ready to make a deal. But we’ll see what happens. But, you know, we’ve been hurt by China for 25, 30 years. Nobody’s done anything about it, and we have no choice but to do what we’re doing. We called them on manipulation, and they brought their numbers back, and they brought ’em back rapidly. We have an open dialogue. We’ll see whether or not we keep our meeting in September. If we do, that’s fine; if we don’t, that’s fine. But it’s time that somebody does what we are doing.

RUSH: When he talks about “the numbers,” he’s talking about their currency manipulation. They tried to deflate their currency on Wednesday, and it worked to the point of rocking our stock market down 900-some-odd points, and then Trump had some harsh words for ’em and they revalued the next night, and the stock market rebounded. Of course, the panic that ensued on that one day when the market dropped 900 points was typical of the kind of reporting we get in the media today.

But he’s made the point that we’ve been taken advantage of by China and our allies in the matters of trade, which impacts foreign policy for way too long. And somebody has to do something about it. And he made the point, “I’m not in any hurry.” If it takes all the way through 2020, he says, he’s fully aware the ChiComs don’t want to give him anything prior to the election. He’s gonna stick to it.

It has to be done. It’s been overlooked. This is all about how the United States in the post-World War II order allowed ourselves — as almost a guilt-ridden superpower after wiping out the world in World War II that we kind of had to let the vanquished have little pieces of us, lest we laud our greatness over them. And this expanded and expanded to the point the United Nations thought they had a permanent hand in our back pocket.

Nobody did anything about it because of typical guilt and the accompanying belief that if we just let some of these little charlatans have some of this and have some of this that they’ll like us, and they won’t launch military attacks against us or what have you. What it ended up as is nobody standing up for America. It eventually got to the point where standing up for America was racist. Standing up for America was nationalism.

Trying to maintain American interests became a bad thing, and that’s the way it’s been for most of my life. That’s been the attitude at the State Department. It’s been the attitude of American foreign policy. And it’s been obviously most of Trump’s life, is and he’s fed up with it because it’s costing everybody money that has to deal with the ChiComs, not to mention the United States. And he’s hell-bent on changing it. And you can hear and tell that he’s not rattled by whatever actions the ChiComs take.

Obamacare Loses in Court

Aug 9, 2019

RUSH: Here’s some good news that you don’t hear about much anymore. The Obama Health and Human Services abortion mandate has lost in court. This means that Christian businesses cannot be forced to pay for abortions.

“The Christian Employers Alliance (CEA) has won a major religious freedom victory on behalf of its current and future members. The United States District Court for the District of North Dakota has ruled that the abortifacient mandate under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), as well as the subsequent ‘accommodation,’ burdens the religious exercise of CEA’s members and violates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993.”

So Obamacare loses in court. This means that the government nor anybody else can force Christian businesses to unwittingly, unavoidably end up paying for, funding abortions.

Rush 24/7 Morning Update: Rebuke

Aug 7, 2019

RUSH: The Washington Post editorial board just slammed one of their own radical leftists. They hammered California governor Gavin Newsom for signing a bill to keep President Trump off the March 2020 primary ballot, unless he releases his tax returns by this November.

The Washington Post echoed what I told you last week: This California law is unconstitutional on its face. The Post cited a 1995 Supreme Court ruling that stops states from imposing their own qualifications on federal candidates.

But that’s not the only reason these lefty editors attacked Newsom and the Trump-hating loony tunes in California’s Democrat legislature. They’re also worried that the new law could unleash a “partisan” backlash beyond California.

They’re afraid that Republicans could play “***-for-tat.” Other states might start demanding health records, high school report cards, college transcripts. They might even demand to see candidates’ birth certificates!

Oh no!

Democrats wouldn’t like that one bit. Yes, this current crop of Democrat presidential candidates is out-and-proud with their crazy-left policy positions. But there are still plenty of skeletons in their closets they want to keep hidden and that the Washington Post doesn’t want any of us to ever find out about.

Rush 24/7 Morning Update: Appeasement

Jul 31, 2019

RUSH: Under a California law that took effect Tuesday, President Trump will not be allowed to appear on California’s primary ballot next year unless he releases his tax returns.

The new law requires that all presidential candidates must submit five years of income tax filings by this November, in order to secure a spot on the ballot for the March 2020 primary.

Now, anybody with a basic knowledge of the American political system and the law will tell you why this is going to end up in court. The Constitution sets the requirements to run for president. Not the Democrat supermajority in California. Not the California governor. Not California politicians. The new California law is unconstitutional on its face.

But there’s another problem. California Democrats can’t dictate to another political party what candidate they can or cannot choose in their primary. That’s a First Amendment issue.

This new law is a sham. It’s just pure political showboating for a bunch of radicals that live out there. California Democrats knew it when they wrote it, and California Governor Newsom knew it when he signed it. This was done for one reason only. To appease the Trump-hating kook base of the Democrat Party and they’re still trying to find something to overturn the 2016 election. That’s what it’s really about.

Rush 24/7 Morning Update: Certifiable Nuts II

Aug 2, 2019

RUSH: Last week, the Attorney General William Barr announced he would resume enforcing the death penalty at the federal level after 20 years of not doing so.

Now, naturally, the left wing is outraged because one of their core missions is to make sure the justice system doesn’t actually punish people who break the law.

So Newsweek ran an op-ed by Richard Sáenz of Lambda Legal fund — you know what that is? Don’t make me tell you. It was titled: “Bringing Back the Federal Death Penalty Will Hit LGBTQ and People of Color the Hardest.”

I bet some of you are shaking your heads. For years we’ve been warned that “minorities and women are hardest hit” by any Republican policy. But how will the LGBTQ crowd be hardest hit by the reinstated federal death penalty?

Well, I’m glad you asked because Mr. Sáenz cites a case in which a gay man was sentenced to death because the jury thought he’d get ”too much enjoyment” serving a life sentence in a men’s prison. This supposedly proves that anti-gay discrimination “pervades” America’s use of capital punishment.

Folks, we have to face the truth here head on. Today’s liberals, this is nuts, you’re probably asking yourself, “What did he just say?” and frankly I don’t know either. Just rely on the fact that it’s stupid!

Bankrupt Democrats Invented “White Supremacy” Because “Racism” Lost Its Impact

Aug 7, 2019

RUSH: Now, last night on his show on the Fox News Channel, Chatsworth Osborne Jr. (my pet name for Tucker Carlson) said he didn’t even believe this white supremacy stuff is anything but a hoax. There aren’t any white supremacists. He said, “I’ve never met one.” I don’t know any… I said this yesterday.

Folks, I don’t know any. The white supremacists that are out there are such a fringe that they have to exist on the deep, dark portals of the World Wide Web that nobody could find if they wanted to. They are not large in number. They are not predominant. They’re not defining. White supremacists are so few that… Do you know any? Anyway, Tucker says this, and CNN lost it. CNN and the Drive-By Media lost it. They can’t believe that Tucker Carlson would engage in such a bold-faced lie.

You know, white supremacy is behind these mass shootings? Most of them are leftists, and most mass shooters are not even white!

RUSH: The Democrats are demanding that Pelosi cut the congressional recess short to address white supremacy. The Democrats want Pelosi to reconvene the House of Representatives so they can tackle white supremacy! Now, these are the people who claim, don’t forget, that the problem is that we’re not unified, that we’ve got to somehow come together. How in the world can that ever happen when this is what they…? How do you have the House do anything about white supremacy, other than putting them in jail? Which… Don’t laugh. We’re talking about their intentions.

Hollywood Fantasy Film Depicts Liberal Elites Hunting and Killing Deplorables

Aug 8, 2019

RUSH: I got an email today from Mr. Newt, and Mr. Newt said, “You have got to demand that this movie not be shown. You have got to demand that this movie not be distributed.” So I looked at the story from Mr. Newt, and I wrote back. I said, “Mr. Newt, do you realize doing that is only gonna make people want to see it even more? I mean, if the most-listened-to radio talk show personality, media figure, ‘a household name all four corners of the world’ starts demanding something not be seen, what do you think’s gonna happen?”

So, you’re asking: Well, then, why am I violating my own policy? Because it’s unavoidable. It’s out there. I’m not gonna not talk about it when everybody else is. If you haven’t heard about this yet: “A movie showing liberals stalking supporters of President Donald Trump is slated to be released in September, but has lost an advertisement on ESPN in the wake of two mass shootings on August 3 and August 4.” Basically, this is a movie where white liberal elites go hunting with guns for Trump supporters for the people Hillary Clinton called “deplorables.”

Not a single shred of condemnation on this from the very people who today are out accusing all of these Trump supporters of mass shootings, indiscriminate killing.

Totally Corrupt Media Won’t Tell People the Dayton Shooter Was a Leftist

Aug 7, 2019

RUSH: Chris in Atlanta. Welcome to the EIB Network. Hi.

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Let me get straight to it. The word isn’t even “despicable.” It is beyond despicable. I’m a 100% Trump supporter, and just to watch these horrific events happen, okay? They’re awful. And the first thing the Democrats do, as if anyone’s surprised, is go right away and blame it on Trump before any evidence… Okay? Before the bodies are even buried in the earth, it’s all Trump’s fault. As things start to develop, you find out the Dayton guy was a leftist Elizabeth Warren supporter. CNN won’t even mention that! No one mentioned that.

They just want to keep being blinded. This is what I say about Democrats. They are so blinded by their own ignorance and hate for Trump, they can’t see the truth. Everyone at this point now knows the Dayton guy was a left supporter, had nothing to do with Trump. And even the guy in El Paso, he wrote in his manifesto that he’s had these feelings way before Trump. The media’s gonna try to blame this on Trump, but that is not the case. So things like this are just making me more attracted to Trump in the sense that I see him constantly being sabotaged, and I just feel like I need to support him even more, and there’s one other thing.

RUSH: Exactly right.

CALLER: One other thing.

RUSH: I think you are a microcosm for a lot of people experiencing the same thing. Now, I can… Folks, I can hear your reactions out there when Chris says, “Everybody knows the Dayton shooter said that he was anti-Trump.” No, everybody doesn’t know it. The people watching mainstream media don’t know it. They “know” an entirely different thing — “know” in quotes. They are being lied to about the Dayton shooter, and they’re being lied to about the El Paso shooter, and they’re being lied to about Trump each and every day.

What percentage of people that watch the Drive-By Media fall for all of it and never question it? You know, the reaction the New York Times got the other day is fascinating to me in one sense, because the consumers of the New York Times do not consider it the truth. They don’t consider it the news of the day. The people that read the New York Times do not think of that paper the way the people that publish it do. I will guarantee you the people publish that paper think that they are the creme de la creme of journalism.

The people reading it think it’s nothing more than their propaganda sheet every day. That’s the role New York Times plays. The same people who hate Fox News and want to shut down Fox News look at the New York Times identically. They don’t look at it as citadel of journalism. They don’t read the New York Times to find out what’s really going on with the truth. They read the New York Times because to them, it’s their daily propaganda affirmation.

When the Times strays like it did yesterday with that headline that did not condemn Trump as a white supremacist or racist, they flooded the place with claims and threats to cancel subscriptions. What did the Times do? The Times didn’t stand up and say, “Screw you! We are the deans of journalism! We are in charge of our product each and every day. We determine what’s in our paper, not you.” No. They didn’t say that. They reached over and they grabbed the ankles as quickly as they could and they changed that headline, because the Times confirmed that they are the propaganda sheet for the insane radical left.

So where is journalism today? I don’t think there is much. I don’t think there is any journalism out there. I think there are simply people disguised as journalists who are active political activists moving the Democrat agenda forward under the guise of journalism. But that little episode with the New York Times illustrated that the readers of that paper don’t think they’re reading journalism. They don’t think they’re learning what happened somewhere where they weren’t. They’re getting their daily affirmation of propaganda, indoctrination, whatever, of what they believe. When the Times doesn’t provide it, the Times hears about it.
