Fan of lesliechow's?

In a "normal" situation, no.   Dude gets off on the same thing over and over again.   He disrupts worlds with the sole intention of messing with everyone else's enjoyment.  However, in The TWC, that's what we expected.   Alaises and ******** are fun for the whole family in The TWC.

Come on now, he has a standing invite to MG, doesn't he?
8/28/2012 6:08 PM
Yes, I keep sending him our S1 password but he never signs up.

you still lifting? tell me about your last workout.
8/29/2012 8:21 AM
Yeah, I'm doing more cardio because my joints don't handle the stress of heavy weights as well now that I'm nearing 50.   Weigh around 220 now but still bench over 3.  Last workout was Monday.   Back and abs with no cardio(which makes me look kinda like a liar now).   Six sets of pulldowns, moderate weight/high reps.   Six sets of seated rows, heavy weight/8-12 reps.   Three sets of dumbell shrugs, moderate weight/20-25 reps.   Three sets of back extensions, light weight/20 reps.  7 sets of abs.   I usually don't do that many sets, I stick to 10-12 per body part but I have two scheduled off days(doc appt yesterday and taking today off to let the shot do it's job) so I ramped it up a bit.   I'll just do cardio/abs on Thur and legs/cardio on Fri before going back to a "regular" routine on Sat.

and you go to a gym to do all this, yes? cause seated rows/pulldowns are damn hard to do with just dumbells/free weights.
8/29/2012 9:04 AM
Yes, I go to the gym.   I've got a universal machine, free weights, bench and squat rack at the house but I don't have a treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical or stepper at home.   Plus I've found my workouts are much better at the gym.   At the house, there's always something to do between sets besides wait for the next set so I don't think I get the same benefits due to lack of concentration.   I'll still do some stuff at home if I'm short on time.

Edit:  I do have a stationary bike at the house.   But it's about 25 years old.  Makes a lot of noise when I ride it(which was maybe 6 months ago).

How many Costco-sized hand lotion bottles did you tear through while watching the RNC?
8/29/2012 10:14 AM
None.  It was like a pep rally for ugly people.   Nothing was jerk-worthy.

How much fun is Mike Trout?  I'm surprised that no one talking about him brings up Freddie Lynn.  Then again, I'm old.

Being on the WC is detrimental to coverage anywhere but the WC.  Anaheim vs. Boston is why the comparisons aren't made.   Dude is multi-talented.  You just hope he's not another Joe Charboneau(to give you an idea of my age).

This has been the summer of the emerald ash borer in Cheeseland... they're popping up all over the place in counties that they'd never been in before. As I understand it, the borer gets into your ash tree, the tree is going to die. So the beetle is essentially killing off its preferred habitat. Does that seem like a good strategy for preservation of the species?
8/29/2012 12:10 PM
As a general rule, no.   But, if your name isn't "cresten", you can't live under a highway off ramp all your life.  So a beetle has to live somewhere.   When they run out of ash trees, they'll go "WTF?" and find some other tree or move in with cresten.   Plus, on the intelligence scale, I doubt beetles, or cresten, rank very high.

Is evolutionary intelligence really dependent on the intelligence of the species?  If so, explain all of Darwin's Galapagos finches.  Are they really much smarter than we think they are?  Did they tell their beaks to evolve convenient shapes?  Can I tell MY nose to evolve whatever shape I want?  An elephant-style trunk wouldn't be attractive, and it would take a while to build up the neck muscles, but the thing could be damn useful.  Almost as good as a third arm and hand.  I could go for that.
