i consider florida to be pretty much the worst team in the league.  at least teams like the oilers and toronto have some upside.  the oilers have a few great young stars.  toronto is trying to improve.  florida has been stagnant for years, and doesn't look like are going to improve....  ever.  :>

but yes, at least we're not canuck fans.  :>

wrong. Fossils are too stupid to wait 20 games to get 4 wins.  They'll be 8-12 by then so they can finish 21st overall.

Funniest thing I heard all night tonight.  CBC announcer during the Fossil - Oilers game "Flames coming to the line with speed!"  priceless

Leave it to the OIlers to mess with confidence... destroy it by shutting us out in the opener... then build it up by allowing us to score 5 goals... in 1 GAME!!!!... amazing... could be 6 if you count the one White scored of his face.

bourque comes back and gets the OT winner in a 1-0 shutout.  maybe 21st overall, but eighth in the west?  heh.  :>

Well it was a win for the Retreads...but shutout for the 3rd time in Reg over the first 5 games???  I knew this team would be BAD offensively but OMG...they down right SUCK

Only brightside of the game was we were allowed to shutout Nashville as well... oh yeah and Bourque scored in OT... but still, this offense is horrendous... big question going forward.

Will the Flames score 82 goals this year?

I saw some of the highlights etc and one of the commentators pointed something out... Calgary is just 'giving' away the puck in the offensive zone! Example of this... a line change the defenceman comes in just over the blue line and takes a shot chest high at the net. Goalie has a clear view nobody in front screening etc. The one forward is off to side, not even close to the net... Easy catch for the goalie and he holds it for a face off. Now the Flames suck on the face off so Nashville wins that... A trip into the opposition zone wasted!!

Instead the forward should at least be in a position for a deflection OR be screening... the defenceman should keep the shot low, better chance to be deflected and harder to smother the puck OR at least dump it into the corner and let the forecheck go... BUT nope take a useless shot at the net and give up the puck... According the commentator he stated he saw them do this kind of thing at least a half dozen time in a period...geez no wonder their having problems scoring but still getting SOGs! Useless shots and giving up the puck in the offensive zone.
