I blew it once when I was in way over my head. And I aced it once, when I had to explain what every file in the /etc directory of a SunOS system did (including some custom files that were thrown in just to see if I was trying to bullshit them).

I used to ask people in interviews 10 years ago what their preferred search engine was. If they said "Yahoo", I pretty much shut down the interview.
