Your fearless leader over these past 8 years hasn't exactly stood up to Putin...the Donald will give the guy a chance, then we'll see...one President at a time, yes?

Putin has marched Russia forward as aggressors, Obama runs his mouth but does nothing.

i just mentioned crippling sanctions...dont you know how bad their economy is now because of sanctions and they were met with resistance over ukraine. what you are saying makes no sense...why do you think they want trump.

But where was this bold action years ago? Where is our response to Aleppo? Moscow has been backing Assad, the Iranians...

they were valuable in helping secure the iran deal.....putin has always known the obama would not allow him carte blance...there is no way to win in syria...you lose no matter which way it goes.....i was always in favor of not supplanting assad.....the devil you know......

Trump will likely govern less by executive fiat than his predecessor. Hardly a dictator.

And unlike some Democrats, there is no talk of using RICO to incarcerate those who disagree with policy...

i don't understand how you can defend the press dino weather its cnn msnbc fox or the national enquirer blind loyalty from the press like we have seen in the last 8 years is the tactic of communism. we are in for a change we will see how good or bad it plays out but in my mind eliminating politics as usual is a step in the right direction we may have adjustment periods and trump may not be the end all answer but i feel this country is lost in political correctness when the state of california can give free sex change operations to prisoners but can't catch up on a backlog of dna tests from rape victims our priorities have been skewed

We can do better, and we should strive for nothing less. The VA is inexcusable. Takehome pay is stagnant. Our place on the world's stage has diminished. We need to lead, not apologize. The world is a much less secure one than 8 years ago. The Iran deal is nothing to be proud of, nor is paying ransoms clouded in secrecy.

Because of inaction we have Ukraine, Aleppo and the South China Sea to deal with. North Korea needs to be dealt with before they set off a regional fireworks display. Did we respond when the Chinese were hacking? Why are our adversaries treated better than our allies? Muslim Brotherhood invited to the White House? Sharpton a counselor? Meanwhile we fret over transgender bathrooms and the National Inquirer, while Barry does Comedy Central, and golfs the day away...

rjj. I have to agree with your last comment and its sentiment. We are indeed (as a Country) lost.

We're lost when we think the answer is to elect a (self-proclaimed) Billionaire masquerading as a champion of the common man..........
who won't release his tax returns, scorns an open and inquiring 4th estate (what little we have left!), believes in the "goodness" of authoritarian rule...........
thinks his "subjects" just need "law and order", thinks private prisons are the answer for anyone who violates his concept of law (like protesting by burning a flag)......., etc, etc etc.

You "believers" on the right side of the spectrum may wake up some day shortly and realize the err of your folly.

To paraphrase a couple of those early white guys who FOUNDED this REPUBLIC I remind you that we've been warned!
Next time you visit an airport think on this one...........

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

or (perhaps) the next time you decide how to cast your vote based on perceived crime issues, or "law and order" think about this one:

"I know of no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves; and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education."
or maybe this one:

"Enlighten the people, generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like spirits at the dawn of day."

The 1st quote is from Ben Franklin, the last two are Thomas Jefferson. Perhaps you've heard of them?
How long will it take until realization sets in? How long did it take for the Russians and the Germans to realize they had "lost" their own Country? Did they ever realize it? Or did it take the rest of the World to aid their comprehension?

In 4 years we'll have all the answers we need. Did Trump grow beyond 7th grade logic, learn on the job, and put the Country's need's 1st?
Or.......... did he continue to behave like a boorish, braggart, 1st class example of an "ugly American", who listens to no one but his own ego??
As a fiscal conservative, socially liberal, generally libertarian political idealogue (that Gov't that governs Best, governs least!) I truly fear what you right wing ideologues have elected (admittedly with a WHOLE lot of help from the completely uneducated masses who exist among us---- you know those folks don't you?---- the miscreants and neer-do-wells- who NEVER took learning serious, never read a book, or learned a damned thing about our Country's history and place on this Globe) and I hope and pray EACH and EVERY DAY I turn out to be wrong about Mr. Trump. SO FAR, his behavior doesn't bode well!

It's only 4 years. What could go wrong?

It would not surprise me if Trump makes mistakes. This is no small task, both here and abroad. Simplifying the tax code, reducing tax rates to make investing in business more attractive will help the economy out of its doldrums. There will be those unhappy with conservative appointments to the bench. No doubt a right turn is coming after leaping left for 8 years. To have many helped out of poverty would be a good thing, and would lessen the burden on taxpayers. So would returning much of the power to the state level. Washington needs to be slimmed down. Too much is being wasted.

Cratered cities like Chicago and Baltimore need to have order restored. It may get worse before it gets better. But it cannot continue on its current path.

Had Hillary not gotten herself in so much hot water over the email and Foundation improprieties, and ran a platform similar to Bubba, we would not be having this discussion of Trump's upcoming presidency...perhaps blame Putin for his inability to hack the RNC.
