There's another post to the HBD forums explaining that the world has to fill before its teams will be generated.
Wait.... I thought there was a little bit of a draft in this league? That way everyone starts on a clean slate and people don't inherit the Devil Rays or the Yankees (Statistically speaking)

Sign up, guys, hurry, hurry. I was looking forward to seeing my franchise and all of its prospects what with a Cheney-like PGE Park to adjust to... only to see the world has to fill before we get a glimpse of our squads.
By the way, I have seen a dozen or so games at Cheney 2000-present and I don't get the -4. Plenty of balls over and off the walls.
I haven't seen PGE since it was Multnomah Stadium back in the '60s, but that park had homer-into-the-street possibilities in its urban Fenway-esque setting. How Portland is so defense-friendly I don't know!
thats why im leery about switching from petco...is it really -4's across the board in the sim...

This is a bummer not being able to see the team. I'm jones'n

It's a bummer for me as well 'cause I can't tell who ISN'T in.

I figured it out....I can see it now.
REMEMBER GUYS, the city name automatically pulls through so you don't need to add it...just your nickname, i.e. "Seahawks".....not "Seattle Seahawks".

unless I'm misunderstanding, there's no draft before the start of the first season. teams are randomly allocated, but I don't think you see NY/TB levels of difference.

Correct.

btw, you can see who signed up already by trying to sign up again and when picking a division it lists everyone.

COPY OF MY SITEMAIL PROPOSAL:
I would like to put a player salary cap on for the first couple seasons. There are a couple of reason why. 1st and foremost is that it will really deter anyone from crippling a franchise and then splitting. I know most of you so I know that your personal integrity wouldn't allow you to do it....but you never know. The 2nd is that if we're allowed to run wild with salaries these first couple of seasons, the salaries will only increase as the league matures and soon everyone will be required to be running $140m player payrolls. I don't want that happen, I want there to be diversity in the way these teams are put together. This is one flaw in the structure of HBD that is going to see many leagues die out I feel.
My idea was $12m as a cap for any single season (even for future seasons--beyond 1 & 2) when negotiating free agent contracts.
$12m is a VERY high salary in HBD. This isn't MLB with scrub pitchers that make $6m/year, and I'd like to keep it that way. So, if you are opposed to this, please voice your reasons, if you are OK with it...feel free to praise my brilliance.
P.S.--I can't see the teams either.....there is ABSOLUTELY NO reason that I am doing this to benefit myself, nor could I if I wanted to. As a tester who has already played in 3 leagues that have gone through the FA process, I see this as an issue and want to circumvent the issue.
Commissioner Randall.
Please discuss

I'm good with that, your the commish and like 95% of us know each other from bryant anyway and hell, you were in my division in SL when I won my only SL title for baseball. I think we should move this thread to bryany though, too much traffic in the HBD forums for my taste.

Thanks for the feedback Rob. I don't want to move it there as there are some here that don't play GD at all. Don't want to confuse them.

Seems the difference of us seeing our teams is the world is Private as opposed to Public. Get those 18 slackers signed up!

From a couple of the sitemail responses I'm getting, it seems I may have confused some of you....let me clarify.
For the first 2 seasons of the NABCL, no single player can make more than $12m for any single season of a contract negotiated during those 2 seasons.
I'd like this to include signing bonuses as well...so that means the MAX SALARY POSSIBLE TO NEGOTIATE DURING THE FIRST 2 SEASONS WOULD BE A $60 MILLION/5 YEAR DEAL.....TOTAL. 3 year? $36m.....get it?
Now, I can't police this at all during negotiations, but the league can see transactions and contracts after the signing has occurred. What that means is that we need to 1) trust each other, and 2) put some kind of penalty into place if someone ignores the rule.

15 in so far....including all 4 in the Commissioners division.
