The D-ratings are atrocious. Kevin Garnett was hands-on the best defender this year and should be the only 100. Camby maybe a 99. Kidd should be in the 60's at this stage of his career.

There are so many more possibilities with this thing...this is absolutely fantastic, I can't praise this change enough.

Keep in mind for defensive ratings, any player on 1st team or 2nd team All-Defense, OR any player who receives at least one 1st team vote gets a significant boost to their rating.

Obviously, 1st team gets a bigger boost than 2nd team, and 2nd team bigger than the rest.

As I mentioned earlier, the defensive ratings formula was changed and applied to all players. The scale of 1 to 100 is just to give an easily understood representation for how good a player is. Players are distributed fairly evenly across that range. The SimEngine has changed as well and there is still a good balance between offense and defense.

One serious loss is the search mechanism where you can place "100" into as many of the individual 5 positions that you need for a positional candidate. That loss is HUGE to me.

Yes you can still do this. Check under the new additional items it is in the first group in that drop down menu.

How come McHales defense dropped? HE was a fine def player on some pretty solid defensive teams, yet most of his seasons saw a decline in his defense... ahh never mind

seble, in my opinion that's way too many guys in the range from 90-100 defense. if your mission was to distribute guys evenly across all ranges, I suppose you did alright. But I personally think the number of elite defenders should be lower.

And there are waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many 100 def guys for the 07-08 season. I don't know how you think it's possible for LeBron to be rated the same defensively as guys like Bill Russell. He's not a bad defender at all, but a 100? geez.
