Mo. Valley / Ivy League Topic

a side note for the Bluejays. We will begin the case study of "does WE matter" ... The Bruce Held story, this season.

Huffman has had a very average career and has been maxed in all cores for a full season. Held has a potential 3 seasons and has caught Huffman in nearly every area that matters much... so unless he really stinks it up,,, Held will play in front of Huffy to try to begin forcing that 11WE and C IQ's upwards.

If Held does what I hope he will, Huffman will be all but a bit/role player by seasons end. But don't tell him

Yeah, I downgraded Held due to his lousy IQ. And these ratings only reflect start of season #'s.

Bradley

I can’t even review Bradley. They are going to compete to be the worst team in all of D1 next year.So sad no one took them, would have been an easy turn around job.

Any job doing is worth doing well.

i'm going to try and play houghtaling at least 50 minutes a game...maybe 60.

East 1-6 Valley is the home team.

West 1-6 Ivy is the home team.

Week 9 next season.

post both conferences below here 1-6 for East and West and I will put em together here for us.

BTW, weigh in on how we want to do the rating please.

How we feel we will end this season (which gets my vote as ezier to predict)

or... How we think we will rank beginning of next season. (slightly different).

I vote for how we will be next year. The game is played next year, so we want to try to keep things competitive. Wichita State might be the #1 team in our half this year, but next year there is no way we beat out NIU.

Early entries ARE a problem, but a small enough occurance (we aren't the Big 12 yet) that it shouldn't happen often.
9/6/2009 2:10 PM
I could go either way. It makes sense to try to match up how we would be next season, but how do we take into account early entries? The only measure we really have is this season.
9/6/2009 2:31 PM
I have no problems either way...just let me know who i play and if it is home or away. Nut does it not make sense to rank the teams on how they did the year before? that way there is not some ones opinion that may differ from person to person.

SIU proudly presents this season's class. The word heard on campus was whether or not Coach Floyd could put some front-line talent around Freshman of the Year Adam Ramey. The Coach believes that the additions of Brandon "Big Ol" Olivo. (Coach Floyd wouldn't let him use "Big O"...that's taken) and William "Mr. Bill" Hunt will do just that. Both guys have a ton of athletic potential and should become offensive forces around the basket. Coach is counting on Hunt to be a banger while Olivo will be brought along more slowly as his durability improves.

Having fought off an early challenge from Purdue, Coach Floyd is very intrigued with Douglas "da Goods" Goodlett's portential and see him as the future at PG even with some misgivings about his defensive rating. His signing should allow Fitting to move to a full time SG.

Darren "D-Mac" McHaney may be the steal of the class and will greatly improve the SF rotation. We needed experience and talent to go with Clark's continued progress and decided the JUCO route was the best approach. The odd man out would appear to be Patterson though his experience will be needed, especially in the non conference schedule.

I'll have to have the guys running extra laps this year. Got to get the stamina up.

Ivy League vs Valley Showdown Week #9

East West

#1. Princeton @ Creighton NIU @ Dartmouth

#2. Boston U @ SIU Witch St @ Bucknell

#3. Brown @ Evansville G. Webb @ Yale

#4. Fordham @ Indiana St. Mizz. St @ Penn.

#5. Cornell @ Drake Ill. St @ Harvard

#6. Columbia @ Bradley W. Kent. @ Duquesne

For the Ivy, these are the overall ratings (minus) walk-ons with the team prestige used to break anything close to a tie. Hope this works and doesn't offend too many Ivy Leaguers, week 9... schedule em up

Princeton wants to be in but oops, I forgot and had schedule up the full non-conference schedule. Have to be next time for me.
