Clarence Stephen (Steve) Johnson (born November 3, 1957, in Akron, Ohio). Johnson played collegiately at Oregon State University under legendary coach Ralph Miller. He was the star of the 1980-1981 squad which spent most of the season at #1 in the polls, before losing in the NCAA basketball playoffs. That season, Johnson made 235 of 315 field goals for a field goal percentage of 74.6% — a single-season mark which is an NCAA men's record to this day.

Michael "Mike" Brown (born July 19, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey). A durable 6'9" power forward/center, he played at George Washington University in the early 1980s, where he received the nickname "The New Washington Monument."

Wingate played high school basketball for the Dunbar Poets of Dunbar High School, where he played alongside fellow NBA players Muggsy Bogues, Reggie Lewis, and Reggie Williams. The 1981-82 Poets finished the season at 29-0, and the following year, after Wingate's graduation, finished 31-0 and were ranked first in the nation by USA Today. At the end of his senior season, it was expected Wingate would attend the University of Maryland, but instead he decided to attend Georgetown University.

As a freshman for the Georgetown Hoyas men s basketball team during the 1982-83 season, Wingate was named to the Big East Conference all-rookie team.The following season, he made the transition from a guard/forward hybrid to playing primarily at the shooting guard position, as the small forward position was filled be incoming freshmen and fellow Dunbar alum Reggie Williams. During his sophomore year, Wingate led the team in steals, scored about 11 points per game, en route to Georgetown winning the 1984 NCAA Men s Division I Basketball Tournament. Wingate's junior season saw Georgetown miss repeating as national champions, losing to Villanova University in the final of the 1985 NCAA Men s Division I Basketball Tournament. It also was one of Wingate's best defensive seasons, earning career high totals in assists and steals, and leading the team with 16 points in their championship matchup against Villanova. He averaged 16 points a game in his senior year, trailing only Williams, and played 1,000 minutes without being fouled out. Upon graduation, Wingate was the Hoya's third all-time leading scorer behind Eric Floyd and Patrick Ewing.

Kenneth Clay Gattison (born May 23, 1964 in Wilmington, North Carolina).

Kenny Gattison was a four-year lettermen at Old Dominion University. He is the Sun Belt Conference's all-time rebound leader with 963 recoveries, and ranks fourth all-time at ODU. His 1,623 career points ranks him 11th all-time in ODU history.

Kenny performed 34 double-doubles and had 87 double figure games. Gattison competed in the 1983 National Sports Festival in Colorado Springs for the East Squad. He also was selected to the U.S. Junior World Cup team in 1983. Gattison averaged 16.1 points per game for ODU in 1985 and 17.4 points per game in 1986. He helped lead ODU to two straight NCAA Tournament bids and in his senior year of 1986, the eighth seeded Monarchs defeated West Virginia for ODU's first ever NCAA Division I Tournament win. That same year, Gattison shot .637 (218-342) from the field.

Gattison was named honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press in 1985 and 1986. He was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year in 1986, and was later named to the Sun Belt Conference's All-Decade team. The ODU Alumni Association named Gattison as the 1986 Male Athlete of the Year. Gattison graduated from Old Dominion with a degree in distributive education, specializing in personnel management.

Kenneth "Kenny" "Sky" Walker (born August 18, 1964 in Roberta, Georgia).

After being named Mr. Basketball in the state of Georgia in 1982, Walker chose to play collegiately at the University of Kentucky. Walker had a very successful college career, being named to an All-SEC team four times and the All-American team twice. Walker's 1984 Kentucky team made it to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament before losing to the Georgetown Hoyas.

In 1986, Walker set a record by scoring 11 times on 11 field goal attempts in the NCAA playoffs.
