I can’t limit myself to answering just one
Josh- Why did you pick the A’s? Was this pick your teams downfall? We went with the A’s thinking that the bullpen was more important than the rotation, since each starter could only go twice while relievers could pitch in all eight games. The other factor for me was the tiebreakers: a good pen should help prevent blowouts to help in runs allowed; Canseco, McGwire and Parker should equal any team in homers; and a strong pen should keep 9th-inning runs to a minimum. So of course, the pen was our downfall.
Staindman- You were one of the people who won, but you played SIMMY for much of it. Should we count that against you? Meaning is your win less impressive than say acketyack? How could staindman be considered responsible for the other owner leaving? Barring an explanation later that something came up or the owner who had a connection problem, I’d say the opposite would be true. I’d want to know that my fellow tribe members will do everything they can to win the game, which to me includes trying to play it live. Obviously mrnelson could have for any number of legitimate reasons, so I’m not implying anything about this instance.
Sloadrock- Have there been any discussions involving alliances?I’ve responded to any tribe member who brought up voting or anything along these lines, and always will.
Acketyack- you won your game. Is it fair to say that if you won your game this week you should be safe from the vote? This in no way implies anything about any individual who won or lost a game, but this is the kind of thinking that leads to ignorant “Belichick’s Blunder” headlines when a move backed up by any rational statistical analysis failed in one instance. One play/inning/game is a pretty small sample size.
