Stop whining.

Is that really whining?

I like the idea. I knew you were waiting for my input, so I apologize for the delay.

np... but don't let it happen again.

Mountain Dew actually came out my nose....

I still agree with Mike. If I'm not Canadian and I come to America and for some reason Starbucks is closed on December 29th, you can't complain that you can't get a mocha grande late black because it's not a holiday in Canada, or Turkey or Thailand.

And like Mike has said over and over again, it's a placeholder day. Promote/demote all you want, trade, do whatever you want. No games would be played on those days, that's all....

What day is Christmas in Canada?

One BIG problem with this is that it would require EXTRA PROGRAMMING (and we know how much WIS likes extra programming), because it would mean the leagues would have to overlay a CALENDAR schedule over the normal league schedules, which start at random dates.

Right now, a "placeholder" day is a day that has no rest/fatigue, but allows transactions. Throwing that into the middle of a schedule might have wildly divergent effects on different leagues.

While it might be midseason for one league and hence no impact, it might be in the first day of coach hiring or free agent signing in another league, or between playoff series in another league. Regardless, adding in these "placeholder" days involves additional programming and will therefore never happen.

I was simply trying to imply that we can't satisfy all ethnicities...

To be true, Christmas is not an America only holiday. Christmas is observed all over the world on different days or over many days, or not at all.

And besides the point, all this is for naught as none of this will ever happen...

Just like merging worlds? They could do if they really wanted to. And considering the wide range of responses to this so far, they should also make it so that each world could decide whether or not to take those days off.

That may have been your intention, but by specifically naming a country that even your link describes as being "essentially the same" as American Christmas, you kind of leave yourself open to ridicule and undermine any chance of being taken seriously.

To be clear: Canada celebrates Christmas on December 25th, too.... in case you were wondering.
