I read a RDG today at the laundromat....a saudi woman divorced her husband of 17 yrs after looking at his cellphone and noticing the nickname 'Guantanamo' next to her number.

After waiving 52 players, and down to a 70.3million dollar payroll, and finally finding the right combination, I just made it to an open league world series  and was just curious to know what peoples opinions and experiences are about improving a team through the waiver wire. I know there are many people who swear against it, but I know there are others who seem to find a "method to the waiver wire madness"
With the waiver wire, you have to mix and match to find the best combo. It took my 20 moves to find the right combo. There is also trading, but I think thats harder. To provent Waivers, get the best combo while draft, but thats hard. I think Waivers is the best way to get a right  comb.

I'm with llama - just about nobody sees zubinsum as "attention seeking."  He's one of the best active owners right now.  You, on the other hand, got a little hot and a lot lucky and now think you're hot sh*t.  Win a title in something other than an OL and we'll talk.
No thanks, I have no desire to ever "talk" to you, so you can't have my attention either.

To broow a phrase,
Luck... protects fools, small children and teams managed by crimsonblue.

After 3 seasons, this luck assertion is running thin, so until you can add something meaningful, salient and fact based to the discussion on WW use, I like most people will just see this as a pathetic attention seeking attempt.

To borrow another phrase (this time from Johngpf), unless the admins are a bunch of damn liars, your notion about making a team better through the WW is just wrong.

mixtroy,

That makes sense on why you drafted that way to begin with... all of my OL teams are purely experimental and in trying new players, stadiums, or strategies... but even then, as I see the teams as purely informative, I don't care much whether they win or lose, I'm looking more at the individual pieces than the overall package. So, I tend to try to ride the players out all season because they were drafted for a reason and I want to understand something from the sim. Waiving them defeats that purpose, and since I firmly believe I'm drafting the right player for that purpose to begin with, waiving them is not going to help my cause or improve my team. If they happen to win, awesome.

In a champs league, I play to win, and even then firmly believe in who I drafted, so I don't ever really waive anyone unless I have a chance (thanks to AAA and dropping my scrubs) to actually improve a player by getting someone I couldn't have afforded during the draft or by picking up an extra role player.

In fact, the only time I can remember ever using the WW to try to improve my team was when I accidentally entered a rebuilding progressive team into an OL and I had a sub $40m salary. I made somewhere around 30 WW moves and finished with 78 or 79 wins and 2GB in a weak division won by johngpf. His team went on to win the WS.
