If you're saying it's "all about the money", you're right.    But slavery was just one of the issues.   It really was more complicated than that, Nicci.

1864 is different than 2015.    Pretty much every soldier committed atrocities that wouldn't float today.   Sherman would be looked upon as Hitler.

You really are good at not being responsive to the facts Mike. The first principle of war that I learned in the Army was to destroy your enemy and his means of fighting back. Sherman did his duty.

Burning homes and killing farm animals wasn't very popular in Vietnam.    Doing it to your countrymen seems a little more than "duty".

I was there dude and that is exactly what we were told to do. I followed orders which is the first directive of the UCOMJ (Uniform code of military justice)

Congrats?

Belittle it all you want, I at least served my country. What have you done?

Never raped anyone.   Can you say the same?   That was pretty popular in Vietnam.   Did you do it before or after burning villages/killing farm animals?

It hasn't been hijacked. The Civil War was fought to keep slavery legal. The confederate flag is the symbol of the fight to preserve black people as property of whites. That's white supremacy in its most undiluted form.

States honoring that "heritage" is racism.

Perhaps you should try reading a book beyond what you were taught in fifth grade.  You might learn about what the Civil War was really about.

Dumbass.
Are you saying the Civil War wasn't about slavery?
Slavery factored into it.  But, no.  The Civil War wasn't about slavery.

You really should try reading a book.  It's weird.  You can learn things by reading books.

"The Civil War wasn't about slavery"

All the lolz.

It wasn't rape....your mother insisted.

Way to avoid the question.

So, if you rape on foreign soil during a war, do you still consider yourself a rapist?   Or is it OK?
6/23/2015 4:55 PM
BTW, I'd think someone old enough to have been in Vietnam would be past mother jokes.
6/23/2015 4:56 PM
You assume that I am quilty of rape. No I am not and if that is your only way of discounting my service then you are welcome to your misguided opinions.
6/23/2015 5:01 PM
Oh, and my apologies to your mother....lord knows she has had more the enough grief in her life with you as her son.
6/23/2015 5:04 PM
So, when you raped 11 y/o Vietnamese girls, did you claim it was under the UCOMJ?
