There was a version of him just under $7 million that still created 148 RC according to Performance History. You could have played him at 1B and saved Lance Berkman for the OF.

Berkman is better and so are some 1B who can be drafted. and Berkman is flexible can be OF or 1B depending on what I can afford and who is available at the end of the draft.

That's definitely true, but it costs you a steal and there might be better uses for that steal. About Lance Berkman, yeah he's a great player not only because of his performance but also his flexibility.

I don't know that I agree Berkman is better straight up but I can see the money making him a better option.

He performs well in many parks. Even if his HR totals suffer, he gets on base and drives in runs.

He certainly costs a boatload but thankfully Baltimore should have the salary room.
