Tark Big Sky is a great conference.

I got my dick kicked in. I never made the playoffs.

I think you can probably win a mostly sim D1 conference with D2 players. I don’t see anyone being terribly competitive in a place like Tark Big Sky, with a handful+ of very solid coaches, using a novel strategy like that. But I bet it would be fun if you have money or credits to burn.

real question... do you run press to maximize results for talent or slowdown man with 3 walk-ons with the d2 guys? I'm leaning press but there's an argument for playing man, taking tons of walk-ons, and only getting the D2 cream of the crop

i think for d2, you almost have to go press? but perhaps not? in d1 i think its more flexible, i think it could work either way - someone could win a title with basically 99% chance of no draft picks, or better, with any defense (there's a lot of teams who have a reasonable shot at the NT, i think these teams would turn out like that, not really favorites).

i struggle to see a d2 man program making the NT in a decent low end conference i guess, but to shoes point, i could see d2 players winning an all-sim conf, and probably running anything? to be an actual low end caliber d1 team, i kinda think press tho.

I think I will go with press. Just got Sac State in Tark today. I'll make a thread about it in a sec.
