Here’s a story to pass the time while we wait for the next pick…..
When I was eleven I went to a summer camp and there was this thing where someone would do this little routine and you were supposed to watch them and do it the same way they did it. Most of it was simple, you would start by touching the fingertip of your pinky finger and say Johnny. Then you would move on to the next fingertip and say Johnny. After the fourth fingertip and Johnny you would slide your finger from your other hand down over to the thumb and say whoops while sliding the finger and say Johnny for the thumb and then another whoops while you slid your finger back to the other fingers. It would sound like Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, whoops, Johnny, whoops, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny, Johnny. So people would watch you do it and then do it themselves and you would tell them they did it wrong and they would go crazy. Good times. The trick to it was that before you did the Johnny finger routine you would always clear your throat before doing the routine. The clearing of the throat is part of the routine, but everyone would be focusing on the fingers part and not pay attention to the throat part. It was always fun when someone would finally figure it out. It’s amazing the things that would entertain us before we had video games and the internet and everything else that we have now.
