The Random Box Score League Topic

Rules clarification - can you only use a player at the position they played in the game or anywhere they at rated?. For example, Frank Thomas was the DH in the game yet was also rated at 1B. Can I start him at 1B?
You can use any player from the box score at any position. You just have to make sure you use the player from the correct year and team that's in the box score. If the guy was traded and there are 2 versions of him from each team, you can only use one of the versions from the correct team in the box score.

Sometimes a guy in the box score was just a pinch runner or pinch hitter, but as long as he was in the box score he can play wherever you want him to for your team.

This is not personal,Savoy.I only dropped out because I did not want to play in a 12 team league and this was not specified in the original ad. You are entitled to make your choice for 12 teams. That is absolutely fine.It was not something I wanted and you were in the very early stages of signups,so I wasn't hurting your process. It would be different if I did it at the last minute.Fine,no hard feelings.

The only point of my comment was that if I was an early signup and the last 4 or 5 got free teams,I might feel a bit put out. Seems llike a natural reaction to me.Again, no hard feelings . Good luck to you.

Do you also feel "put out" when What If offers cheaper teams only to NEW customers, and not to those of us who have been supporting them for a while already?

They just today offered 50% off to any "returning" customer who hasn't spent any money here in 2023.

Just remember, your ultimate goal is to win a championship, which you have twice as much of a chance of doing in a 12 team league than in a 24 team league.

When you guy have your teams set, it's MLB138858.

I will then verify your rosters to make sure they comply with the league rules.

I'm sorry but I am going to leave the league. I don't really like the random aspect of the league, after all. With the boxscores I was given, I ended up with a mediocre to poor starting rotation. I prefer a league in which everyone has an equal opportunity to field their best team.

Good luck to everyone in the league.

I can't believe that you are that much of a **** to suddenly pull out after a few weeks of knowing what your team was.

"My pitching isn't good enough, Wahhh"

You don't have a problem with the random aspect of the league. Your problem is that you don't think that your team is good enough. If the random aspect had given you a team that you thought was great, you wouldn't be quitting.

Actually, my problem is with you. I was warned by two people that you were irresponsible and immature. Case in point, your last post. This is something that I would expect from a 12-year-old, not a mature adult.

Whew, I got out while the getting was good!

So I'm immature for telling you what you really did, but you're mature for quitting when you're not happy with your pitchers in a random box score league. I'd call THAT immature and irresponsible. Especially when the league is about to fill.

That's what a 12 year old would do. Agree to join a random box score league, and then quit just before it started because he didn't like his radom box scores pithing staff.

matt's team is on the league page now. The players have been confirmed, but he needs to change his home park. Right now he's in Shibe, but he needs to change to one of the home parks in his box scores.

Fixing it now.i selected the visitors home park for some reason
