I don't know.
LOL

Love it!

Bob, my wife wanted 4 kids. We settled on two because of the cost. Common sense man! Common sense!

I want a Ferrari but I cannot afford it. Want and need are different things and adults should be held responsible. Tangy believes that people who can't afford kids should still have them and that the Gov't should support them. Sadly.
Obviously common sense laws. My point was that if we live in a system where some people financially cannot afford to have 2 kids, that system needs to change.
Why?
Because I firmly believe that a human right exists to have babies.
Sure, humans have that right. Humans should also have the right to live wherever they want, but if you can't afford to live in Hawaii, don't ******* move there.
Quiet wylie. People have the right to do what they want and have the Gov't pay for it. LOL

I don't consider having a baby to be a luxury, thus I think that to be false equivalency.
I appreciate that is your opinion. My opinion is, if you can't afford to support a child, don't have one.
I agree with that but it's not really helpful. A lot of people have kids by accident. A lot of people have kids and can afford them and then something changes--someone loses a job, gets sick, gets divorced, house burns down, etc.
I understand that things change in life. However having kids by accident can easily be prevented, for the most part. There's not much you can do about getting sick, losing a job, divorce, etc. There is something you can do about having a baby by accident.

Nope I don't mean that and nice try. I mean don't be a single parent from the outset. Divorce does not equal single parent. You still have two.

Absolutely true.

On the other hand, our economy relies on most people at least replacing themselves, +1 if possible. So it's kind of damned if you do, damned if you don't. I think a strong social safety net is probably the best way to deal with people who are poor and have kids.

It's completely irrelevant. I'm almost 100% certain I've mentioned my race and religious position here before. Feel free to search but I'm not going to indulge your red herring.

Not “no consequences,” just not severe consequences.

We allow businesses to make mistakes without severe consequences (corporate shielding of assets, BK protections, etc.). Why not extend protection to people.

Someone who has kids and then loses their job shouldn’t have to worry about being evicted from their place and becoming homeless. It’s completely unnecessary.

We do dumb **** in this country. We put poor people in jail when they aren’t able to pay parking tickets. We arrest homeless people instead of providing shelters for them. We try to shame people for taking the help that we purposely put in place. It’s ******.
