Game 118: You would expect a Jake Peavy-Aaron Cook matchup to end up a blowout loss for Cook, and you'd be right. Peavy improves to 17-4 on the season as the Cold Stealers ambush Cook with a five-run fourth inning on the way to a 9-2 victory.

Game 119: Mike Mussina gets his 17th win as well, shutting out the Spectres for seven innings in a 4-0 Cold Stealer victory.

Game 120
: Montreal makes the series finale competitve, at least, scoring five runs off Philly starter Josh Johnson, but in the end they lose 8-7 as Ryan Dempster hits a man with the bases loaded in the top of the ninth to drive home the winning run. Mike Gonzalez strikes out all three Montreal batters he faces in the bottom of the inning to preserve the victory.

The Spectres head to New York in last place in the division.

11/3/2010 10:49 PM (edited)
Game 127: The Spectres score runs in the eighth and ninth to take a 3-2 lead, scoring the lead run on Jose Lopez' pinch hit double, and Ryan Dempster works out of a self-inflicted one-out, bases loaded situation in the ninth to preserve the victory.

Game 128: The Spectres score four runs in the eighth to tie the game, then win it with four more in the 10th inning. Carl Crawford and Conrad Rush have four hits each in the 10-6 decision; AJ Burnett throws two scoreless innings and gets win number 13.

Game 129
: Conrad Rush continues his hot hitting with three more hits, including his first home run, and four RBI, as the Spectres sweep the Cthulu with a 6-4 win.

The Spectres host Los Angeles next.
11/4/2010 11:01 PM (edited)

Why have I never heard of this team before?  Are they semi-pro?

They certainly are.
11/7/2010 6:27 AM
Game 139: Dan Uggla hits two solo home runs to go over the 100-RBI mark for the season, but the story, as usual, is another late-inning collapse by the Montreal bullpen as the Lone Stars score twice each in both the eighth and ninth innings to steal a 6-5 win from the Spectres. Brandon Lyon is the culprit in this one, suffering his seventh blown save.

Game 140: Salomon Torres picks up his seventh blown save, losing a shutout in the ninth, but the Spectres win it in the 11th on Conrad Rush's RBI single, scoring Michael Cuddyer for a 2-1 win.

Game 141: Jeremy Bonderman wins his 15th game, 9-2, as the Spectres get three RBI each from Carl Crawford and Carlos Delgado.

11/11/2010 11:02 PM (edited)

Game 152: Ken Griffey Jr. goes yard for the third straight game, Dan Uggla drives home five, and Ryan Dempster strikes out the side in the ninth to earn a save as Montreal beats Philly 11-8.

Game 153: The Spectres reach double digits for the fourth straight game as they beat the Cold Stealers 11-5 to give Jeremy Bonderman his 16th victory. Ken Griffey Jr. is kept in the park today, but does drive in two runs. Carlos Delgado hits his 44th home run, Dan Uggla his 33rd, and Ramon Hernandez his 22nd.

Game 154: The offensive fireworks stop for the Spectres as they are shut down by Jake Peavy, who wins his 19th game in a 5-1 decision.

We host New York next.
11/13/2010 11:19 PM (edited)
Game 155: The Mad Men rally for three runs in the ninth to beat the Spectres 4-3. Ryan Dempster gets his ninth blown save, though the stage was set by AJ Burnett.

Game 157
: Jeremy Bonderman strikes out 12 batters and the Spectres get three two-run homers to beat the Mad Men 6-2.

Game 158: Ken Griffey Jr. hits his 25th home run, but gets little support from his teammates, and the Mad Men take the series with a 4-3 win.

We close the season in Pittsburgh.
11/15/2010 6:55 AM (edited)
Game 159: The Spectres are mystified by Gil Meche, collecting only three hits on the day. Pittsburgh has no such problems with Aaron Cook, or his successors, and romps to a 10-0 victory.

Game 160: The Spectres at least score in this one, but the effort is still lacking, and they drop a 5-2 decision.

Game 161: Jeremy Bonderman comes within an out of throwing a complete game shutout and Carlos Delgado hits two home runs as the Spectres blank the Melons 6-0. Bonderman finishes the season at 18-8.

Game 162: Montreal finishes the season with a 2-1 win behind Kelvim Escobar; Melvin Mora hits a two-run homer to account for the Spectre runs.
