Game 40: Carl Crawford hits two solo homers, one to lead off the game, and Kelvim Escobar throws a complete game, striking out 11, as the Spectres top Chicago 7-1 in the series opener.

Game 41: Carlos Delgado doubles, homers, and drives in three more runs as the Spectres beat Chicago 7-3. Aaron Cook improves to 4-1.

Game 42: Jake Westbrook throws eight scoreless innings and the Spectres hold off the Bootleggers 4-1.

We head west to face Los Angeles next.

Game 43: Melvin Mora hits a three-run homer in the second and it stands up as Shaun Marcum wins his second game with some help from the bullpen, which throws three scoreless innings to preserve a 3-2 victory.

Game 44: Melvin Mora homers and drives in three runs; Ryan Dempster throws a scoreless ninth for his 13th save as the Spectres beat LA 4-2.

Game 45: AJ Burnett throws scoreless ball through six, but allows single runs in the seventh and eighth as the Glovers rally for a 2-1 win, snapping the Spectres' seven-game winning streak.

We return home to face Cincinnati.

Game 46: Montreal suffers a horrible loss as seven scoreless innings by Aaron Cook are followed by some of the most incompetent relief pitching ever seen this side of the border. Cincy scores five times in the eighth and once more in the ninth to steal a 6-5 victory from the Spectres.

Game 47: Ryan Dempster suffers his second blown save, allowing an RBI single to Tony Graffanino in the top of the ninth, but Ryan Doumit delivers a Montreal victory, lining Casey Fossum's third pitch into the stands for a walkoff home run, giving Montreal a 4-3 win.

Game 48: Not surprisingly, the Spectre bullpen gives in before Cincy's in the series finale, a 10-inning battle of attrition that ends with a 3-run 10th inning for the Stingers.

Interleague sets with Chicago and Boston are next.

Game 49: The White Sox certainly enjoy their time in Montreal, collecting 14 hits and eight walks on the way to a 15-1 rout of the Spectres. Shaun Marcum's recent streak of quality starts comes to a crashing halt.

Game 50: AJ Burnett throws a three-hitter, striking out 12 and walking none, leading the Spectres to a 6-0 win over the White Sox.

Game 51: Gabriel Westrich throws 5.2 scoreless innings at Fenway and the Spectres defeat the Brawn, 7-3. Dan Uggla's three-run homer sparks a five-run third inning.

Game 52: Boston gets a big heap of revenge, pounding out 22 hits in a 14-4 rout. Aaron Cook takes the loss.

Hated Frisco is in town next.

Game 53: Jake Westbrook's string of good starts comes to a crashing halt as Frisco chases him with a five-run first. The Spectres never make up much ground off Chris Capuano, and despite eight-plus scoreless innings from the Spectre bullpen, the Niners take the opener 5-1.

Game 54: Frisco puts up another crooked number in the first, scoring three off Kelvim Escobar, and the Spectres once again fail to generate much offense, losing 5-3.

Game 55: Montreal is swept by the Niners, shut out 7-0 in the series finale by  Mark Buerhle (8-2).

With that embarrassing performance, we fall five games behind the wild card position, with a number of teams between us and it. The second round of divisional play begins with a visit from Pittsburgh.

Game 56: Aaron Cook falls apart after a good start, the Melons score seven runs in the 7th and 8th innings, and the Spectres blow another game, 8-5.

Game 57: AJ Burnett evens his record at 5-5 with seven 5-hit innings as the Spectre 4-5-6 hitters combine for eight hits in a 6-2 win.

Game 58: The Melons strand a ton of runners while the Spectres capitalize on their scoring opportunities with seven extra base hits; Jeremy Bonderman pitches three scoreless innings in relief for the save in an 11-3 victory to take the series.

The Cold Stealers are in town next.

Game 59: Michael Cuddyer's ninth-inning triple sends the game to extras, and Dan Uggla's 12th-inning homer wins it as Montreal edges the Cold Stealers 6-5 in the series opener.

Game 60: This time it's a late Philadelphia rally that sends the game to extras, but again it's Dan Uggla scoring the winning run. His leadofff walk in the 11th is followed by three consecutive singles to give Montreal an 8-7 win.

Game 61: Philadelphia scores at least two runs in each of the first six innings, taking an 11-0 lead before Montreal even hits the scoreboard, and coasts to a 17-8 win over the Spectres.

We head to New York to face the Mad Men next.

Game 62: The Spectres collect 15 hits, not enough to protect them from a disastrous seventh inning in which the Mad Men score six times, lifitng New York to a 9-6 victory.

Game 63: Jake Westbrook hits a little too much of Mark Texeira's bat, and the Mad Men take a 5-3 decision from Montreal.

Game 64: Annnd the Spectres are swept by the Mad Men, shut out for eight innings by Nate Robertson (3-6) in a 5-2 loss. Ryan Doumit's meaningless two-run homer in the ninth prevents a shutout.

Home-and-home matchup with the AL's Atlanta team is next.

Game 65: In Atlanta, the Spectres take a 6-0 lead in the second inning and then watch the bullpen choke it all away; the Farmers score nine times over the final three innings and win, 9-6.

Game 66: The Spectres get three scoreless innings from the bullpen, overcoming two homers by Paul Konerko to beat Atlanta 7-5.

We head to St. Louis next.

Game 67: Ramon Hernandez hits his first home run of the season while Melvin Mora and Ken Griffey Jr. each hit their seventh; Montreal tops the Cthulu 5-3 to open the series.

Game 68: Melvin Mora hits a tie-breaking double in the eighth, and Jacque Jones commits a two-run error in the ninth to give the Spectres some breathing room as they top St. Louis 7-4.

Game 69: Kelvim Escobar throws a complete-game 5-hitter to beat the Cthulu 5-1 and complete a Montreal sweep.

The Spectres return home to face San Diego.

Game 70: San Diego scores three runs in the first off Aaron Cook and never looks back; Montreal doesn't get much offense except for Carl Crawford, losing the series opener 8-3.

Game 71: Steve Trachsel, 1-6 entering the game, finds a favorable matchup when Montreal throws Shaun Marcum out there. Marcum allows nine runs, and Trachsel gets his second win, 11-6 over the Spectres.

Game 72: Ryan Dempster allows a one-out single in the ninth but strikes out the other three batters he faces, preserving a 5-4 win for the Spectres and avoiding a sweep by the Conquistadors.

The Spectres travel to Milwaukee next to face the Bears.

Game 73: Dan Uggla, Khalil Greene, and Michael Cuddyer combine to strand 17 baserunners and a late rally falls short when Greene and Cuddyer are retired with the bases loaded; Milwaukee escapes with a 4-3 win to open the series.

Game 74: Melvin Mora's two-run double starts a six-run 4th inning, and Ryan Dempster works out of a jam in the ninth to preserve an 8-6 victory.

Game 75: Kelvim Escobar not only pitches eight 5-hit innings, but he has two hits, two runs, and an RBI as the Spectres take care of the Bears, 10-1.

We host Houston next.

Game 76: A late meltdown by the Spectre bullpen lets Houston back into the game and they take advantage, rallying from a 5-3 deficit to beat the Spectres 8-5.

Game 77: Shaun Marcum throws five scoreless innings, and then everything falls apart. The Lone Stars score eight times over the final four frames for an 8-3 win.

Game 78: The Spectres manage to avoid the humiliation of being swept by cellar-dwelling Houston, getting two home runs from Dan Uggla and six shutout innings from Jake Westbrook in an 8-4 win.

Montreal will finish off the first half in Chicago.
