This brings up another question: what's the lowest control you'd ever consider using? Like, you've got a guy with 80+ splits, 90+ velo and GB, good pitches, good stam/dur—how low do you go on control? Personally I've had success with relievers as low as 40 or so, but I would never go below 60 for a starter.

50 is my floor.

50 for a starter, 40 for a reliever.

I use 45 as my break point for all pitchers. Id probally never go below 60 unless the splits are 90 + and pitches are good.

50, and only for starters, only if his splits are really good and his first pitch is mid-80's or better.
I personally wouldn't want a low control reliever.

I have an oddball IFA who projects to 80 stamina with less than ten durability (currently at a whopping six). Elite everything else. How would you use a guy like this? Random starter who only pitches every ten days or so? Or a reliever with limited pitch count? I'm inclined to go the latter route but not sure if that can play out reasonably well or not.

RP, and usually at Closer where he only pitches with the lead. Problem is, even if he only throws 10-15 pitches, if he ever goes three days in a row he can't pitch the next four.

Look similar. Here is my guy: Player Profile: Damaso Mateo

I usually just don't use these guys at all; they're too much of a pain in the *** to get innings for their development. I doubt your 20 year old INTL will develop to be good enough to be worth the hassle. All that said, if they're really good you can try to get them 40-50 IP in the role damag describes.

I once had a guy like this whom I used as reliever in that way all year, and then gave him a start in the rubber game of a playoff series, figuring I would just take him off the playoff roster for the next series if he won. Don't remember the result, though.

I'll tell you the players I'd rather not draft, the guys with the reverse DUR/STA. Anyone with a STA lower than 10, unless the DUR is way over 90. You get less than 30 innings a season and keep having to flop them on and off your minor league roster. I let some other owner deal with it.

I'm in the "do not draft/sign" camp on guys like this. When I download the rookie draft prospects into a spreadsheet, the first two sorts I do on pitchers are dur and stam. If either is under 15, I put them in the do not draft category. (Exception for an otherwise solid starter with really high stamina, if he's close to 15 dur - no exceptions for relievers)

Having said that, if I had this guy, I'd use him in the bullpen with a MPC of 10. If he ever pitched two days in a row, I'd rest him till he was 100% again (hopefully only one day).

I think the best way to maximize innings is to start those guys every 10 days or so, but it's also the most annoying to manage lol. So I get either way. I've had the guy below for a couple seasons and can get 80+ out of him by starting, and also can get 3-4 starts during a playoff run.

Can you not just set a guy like that to SP6 and auto-rest below 100?

Is there any way to waive an ML player with options, in the hopes someone claims him and picks up his remaining contract? Is this even a thing?

I’ve done it many a times...... at least I think I have. Sometimes people want a player but don’t want to trade for them, or you can do it during revocable waivers but not put the player on revokable waivers and see if you can stick em with someone else.
