I thought of adding a "would it surprise you to know I'm a midwesterner?" to make it a question but I thought that was lame and I already knew what the answer would be. Is this a forgivable offense?

I don't hate Abbott. But that Costello fellow is irritating.

It was an astoundingly clever catch on the Who's on First skit when I said "Third base!"

Sergei, being one who probably does know anything before 1999 exists, did not pick up on it, and red lined it.

Threadmaster Sergie follows the format of the thread. That's not to say he isn't ignorant but he enforces the rules. As for the rest of the youth, they look to the future. Just like we did.
