Game 72: The Spectres continue to find new ways to lose, in the series finale turning 14 hits into merely three runs, which is one short of what Chicago manages on five fewer hits. Montreal falls two back of New York in the wild card race.

The Spectres head to Houston looking for some sign of life.

Game 74
: Jeffrey Winkelman's error leads to two unearned runs for Houston, which is convenient because the final margin of defeat is two runs, 7-5.

Game 75: Shaun Marcum and the bullpen shut down the Lone Stars, while the Spectres have seven players collect at least two hits apiece, beating Houston 8-1 to take the series.

We return home to face Milwaukee.

Game 84: The Spectres edge the Glovers 9-8 in an odd sort of slugfest... no balls leave the yard. In fact, all 17 of Montreal's hits are singles. Arthur Rhodes picks up his seventh save.

Game 85: Carlos Delgado's 24th home run of the year caps a three-run third inning and the Spectres hold on for a 4-3 win over the visiting Emeralds. Cesar Jimenez has some trouble in the ninth but records his fifth save.

Game 86: In Seattle, Chad Bradford melts down in the ninth, helped along by Asdrubal Cabrera's second error of the game, and the Emeralds rally for a 7-6 victory.

Game 87: At Oakland, Aaron Cook has a rare quality start, and the game goes to extras tied at 3. Ryan Doumit singles home a run in the 10th, but Oakland answers with one of their own in the bottom half. Game 92: Dan Uggla hits a three-run homer in the first, but that's basically the highlight of the day for Montreal. Uggla's third-inning error helps lead to six San Diego runs, and the Conquistadors coast from there to a 7-4 victory.

Game 93: Ryan Dempster pitches a complete game 5-hitter, walking none, and Dan Uggla hits his 20th home run of the season as Montreal salvages the series finale, 4-0.

4/24/2011 10:26 PM (edited)
