Gee, looks like moy was wrong as usual.  Toews scores probably the biggest goal of the year for us to not only push us to 95 points, but eliminate Calgary by doing so.  2 games left and the playoffs are 2 pts away for all intents and purposes.

I guess when you're an elite player, you do things like this.

I'll be drinking Old Style at Wrigleyfest, so at least you'll save a few bucks there.  Bring your wallet!

I said a 6th seed or worse.... and I countered your specific playoff or bust bet with 10:1 odds the hawks are not in the top half of teams this year.... you are the one that backed out once I countered. Go reread. You would have won my money but you were too scared to accept those odds.

Really though..... you just proved to me that Toews is not elite.... thanks for not taking the 2nd round bet. I feel soooo good right now!!!

Denial.... the lack of depth on your team is killing you. Not a stanley cup hangover. The hawks lost 11 players and got back talent that can't play in the nhl this season. The bottom 15 players on the roster are average at best.... and that's just if im being nice.

Injuries to Campbell, hossa, bolland have hurt bad with no depth.

BTW... I'm gonna be real proud of myself when my prediction of 6th seed or less comes true ;)

moy, kudos on the prediction, but even you have to admit the West was a crapshoot this season. If I told you the Hawks would have the 3rd best goal differential in the West this season, where would you have ranked them? But I won't argue the lack of depth hurt this season, but I still maintain the Hawks made the right decisions.

As for Toews, the captain made up for his mistake in Montreal in a big way last night. He could have made excuses because the penalty call in Montreal was ridiculous, as stated by Quenneville and Kane afterwards, but instead the captain came out and got us the two points when we needed it most.

The rest of the team played ok, but the second half of the game they really turned it on and dominated the Blues. It seemed the sense of urgency came back in their game once they got down 2-0. Campoli was really good last night and I also liked Ben Smith who was recalled. Sharpie didn't look 100% and I would personally sit him next game. Knee injuries are tricky things and we need him as close to healthy as possible if we're gonna put up a fight this year in the post-season.
