I don't see a whole lot of purpose in this except to make the "better worlds" be able to attractive new owners easier and the "worse" worlds have more trouble attracting owners.

Good work for perpetuating an existing problem!

Have you ever referenced "Consumer Reports" when deciding which product to buy?  Have you ever read a movie review to determine if you wanted to see a particular movie?

It could convince the "worse" worlds to step up their game.  If that happens, mrjames has done HBD a service.

I tend to agree with this, especially in the shortterm.  Still fun to look at regardless

I'm surprised the comments have been sparse and mild.   I thought a lot of people would have pointed out how stupid this is because their world is in the 60s.   Of course, because there is no list in this thread, people may not care enough to look for it.

I like these kinds of things.  Nice effort tomjames. 

Has there been any effort to have an owner ranking (across all worlds)?  Obviously difficult based on varying levels of competitiveness but I'd love to see someone take a crack at it.

i personally think nabcl is #1...moonlight graham is #2...capb is #3...american pastime #4...moneyball #5...but imo...nabcl is a clear cut #1...

I think anyone and everyone could find a league they think is a little better or worse than where it is ranked on this list. Personally, I think the 7MIckey Mantle7 world is pretty underrated. Afterall, it has a 93% retention rate. But really, who cares? I appreciate the work and effort that went into this project. It has opened my eyes to a lot of worlds that I never really even knew existed and will probably try to play in sometime in the future. Thanks, Tom.

I thought the rankings were pretty good. No Quitters seems to be near the top of all these rankings. It doesn't get mentioned as much as the ones you talked about, because a lot of the owners are not as active in the forums (with the exception of that bizarre argument between you and carnivore about online MMORPGs which branched off into a discussion about virtual rape or something like that), but it's a quality world and griv is an outstanding commish.

I think Happy Jack is in a fair place. It seems a little more unbalanced and "easier" than No Quitters, but I would say that a good portion of the league is really quality owners and iain is a good commish as well.

Kind of hard for me to comment on more than that, as those are the only two leagues I play in, or have ever played in, but whatever.

In summary: "my worlds are ranked high, so the rankings must be good."

I don't remember that argument but I do recall the virtual rape thing. 

Nonetheless, looking at the worlds I've been in for at least a full season(and are eligible for these rankings), I'd have put them in the same order as it turned out.

Of course, to be fair, I look for worlds with high retention rates and competitive balance so it's not very surprising that rankings that reward such things are near the top.
