BlueJays Indians and Expos off the board. Three things that rarely happen in round 1.

I had I think, 4-5 teams, OFF the board, before I even got a chance to pick... (I diddn't want any Yanks, Dodgers, Astros, Cards, Reds - anyway)

I can't imagine the Royals with ONLY 6 franchises Better than them... Especially with the HORRENDOUS 90's & 2000's & Half of the 80's & 70's - where they Stunk on ICE!!? Only 2 Championships, 30 years apart? But I guess that's better than the RedSox (curse of the Bambino) & the Cubs... what was their excuse again? Those 6 franchises should be Ashamed, what with BIG Moneyball giving them all the Advantage. The Yanks & Redsox had a heck of a time trying to BUY Championships --- & Failing? Steinbrenner "Bought" only 3 Championships, in 30 years, that Stinks? You would think he could have done Better than That, with all of his Dough?

The draft order is based on each franchise's record in this league, not in real life, which is stated explicitly in the first post's theme description. But it's a busy world so I can understand why people may not be able to read a couple of paragraphs nowadays.

A long time ago the draft order was based on real life record, which meant the Royals drafted in a much better position. They have much better players to protect compared to other historically bad franchises, so getting to draft top flight talent to add to their player base made them perform especially well. Basing the draft order on Rule V performance was to balance out such issues.
