As you so modestly pointed out earlier in the thread -- you're really well-liked EVERYWHERE and so I can't imagine what the ECC in Tark is going to look like without such a well-liked coach like you there.

I agree... how is he being defended at all? And especially by a legitimate HD Mount Rushmore Hall of Famer. It's unbelievable.

Also, this is not a new thing with this cheater guy. It's been going on for a LONG time, it's just that we've all just tolerated it and we've been very freakin patient. If this thread hadn't been started by the actual cheater, unrepentant and smug and arrogant, then his sh-t would've continued indefinitely into the future.

Also, somewhere in this thread there's a comment to the effect that said, ok, so he cheated, no biggie, aren't there more important things going on in the world? ... Which is one of my most disliked cop-out answers that i hear day to day... basically any statement, question, concern, anything, can be given that answer as a complete cop out.

My wife: "Sh-t, i burnt the toast, and now we're out of bread".
Me: "Heh, heh... Aren't there more importrant things in the world going on???".
My wife: --> throws the toaster at me.

Every thread in this forum could have that as a response:
- "Gee, i thought i'd qualify for a Div-1 job this offseason... what more do i have to do?"
- "Heh, heh... Aren't there more importrant things in the world going on???".

- "Argh, i lost a recruiting battle when i was up 60 to 40 percent".
- "Heh, heh... Aren't there more importrant things in the world going on???".

- "Hey, this guy has 2 teams in the same world, offers scholarships to the same recruit with both teams, and cheats".
- "Heh, heh... Aren't there more importrant things in the world going on???".

For the record, gil is the one saying "so he cheated, so what? No biggie. People cheat all the time in games like this. We're lucky its only a few"

i realize the point he's making here. But he's TOTALLY wrong on this. Sure, we aren't the ethics police and we shouldn't torture and smear every person that does one little thing wrong. But it's also NOT "no big deal" and something that should be overlooked. We all want an even playing field, and we all want to play by fairplay guidelines. If someone doesn't, they should be exposed and it should be brought to the attention of others.

Gil tells ME to "get a grip" earlier in this thread. But turns around and says "ah, cheaters? Nothing to see here. No big deal. Let it happen". A lot of times I argue here for the sport of arguing. But on this topic, I'm right gil. And you're wrong. No way around that one. Sorry buddy. And you know that too.

You have a great point here TJ. The reason the # of coaches playing HD have dropped by 40% in the past 3 years is because of these two threads created in the past month. If it wasn't for these two threads, I'm sure you'd have more 50 coaches in d3 in all worlds. Nice work guys.

Let me try to summarize TJs argument:

• Players paying to play an online game system want a level playing field for all competitors
• Players notice others are gaining advantages through vulnerabilities in the system
• ?Players use the only means available to them in system to bring about changes that would eliminate the vulnerabilities: tickets to customer support and public awareness through the forums
  • Customer support closes one vulnerability (renewal loophole from which TJ was known to have potentially benefited), players rejoice
  • Players note another, more difficult to detect generally, issue of violations in fair play guidelines for the game: two teams within 1,000 miles of each other coached by the same person; players attempt to use all means available again, following the success of the first improvement brought to the game
  • The obvious offender starts a thread, not only to defend his actions, but to vilify those who would dare suggest he was potentially doing something wrong more than the obvious violation of the fair play guidelines. The thread attracts the attention of those who want a level playing field and turns into a robust discussion.
• The players who brought to light the potentials for exploiting the system are the ones to blame for new players not joining or staying when they do
