Again - what was the religion of your mother when you were welped?
Christian. Now point me to the part of Jewish law that erases Matrilineage so long as someone is also Christian.
Why would you have a Bar-Mitzvah if your parents are both Christian? For the presents?
Because I'm still ethnically Jewish. I identify with the culture and appreciate my heritage.
At 13 you didn't know that. So your Christian Mennonite parents are also Jewish? Can you provide a link to any other Jewish Mennonites or are you and your family for all intents and purposes unicorns?
My mom is Jewish, and Jewish heritage, by law (if you know anything about Jewish law you would know this) is passed through your mother's side. My mom's mom is Jewish, and her mom is Jewish, and it goes on. Thus I am also Jewish.

And yes, I did still appreciate my Jewish heritage at 13. I can run through my entire family tree if you want. My mom converted to being a Mennonite around when she met my dad. When she became a Christian, her Jewish heritage didn't just disappear.
You have rights to become an Israeli Citizen because of blood but as a non Jew.
thsts a lot but that is the tangible truth.
the Jewish people do not consider you Jewish.

you do have Jewish blood and some Jewish heritage but you are not Jewish by definition and law.
you identify as Christian which is inimical to Jewish ethnicity and religion and culture.

those are the facts Jack.
having a bat mitzvah with the fact that your mother was once Jewish does give you some Jewish heritage but not Jewishness.

it takes a brain to understand the totality.

My point is that when people declare war on you, then you will no longer want to share land with them If I offer to share a house and you attack me with a knife. I take the knife away and KO you and when you wake up, you say, sorry lets share the house? I would laugh and tell you to get lost. Israel didn't declare war, the Arab states did. In terms of Native Americans, yes we conquered them but which tribe? Those Tribes were conquering each other for years. Sioux, Cherokee, etc. Spain did the same to Latin America. Arabs did the same to Babylon. Conquest has been the way of the world. Should Turkey return Istanbul to the Christians and rename it Constantinople?
Israel just has to let Palestinians be and not evict them from their homes. It's that simple.

As for Native Americans, we didn't just conquer them, we committed war crimes, broke treaties, and did a lot of illegal **** to steal land. Under your logic, if Native Americans had the strength, they would have every right to kick most Americans out of their homes.

The eviction of 3-4 homes has never been an issue of contention although there is a gray area so why do you talk about it like it goes back to 1948.

Israel is not evicting anyone. Israel won the war and to the victors go the spoils. 100% if the Native Americans could raise an army an re-take America they should but which Native American tribe? They are all different and almost all dwindled down to nothing. Of course conquest is difficult. Look at the Mayans, Incans, Aztecs? A lot of tribes have been conquered throughout history. Also We came on their land, Native Americans. Israelis aka Jews were living in Palestine and offered to share the land, and instead the Arab nations declared war. Now it is a difficult situation of course. What you call "evictions" I call disputed land in the West Bank. Wars have consequences. When the North won the civil war we didn't allow the South to maintain independence and slavery.

If you want to solve the disputed land aspect, I agree with you but how can one negotiate with Hamas and Fatah? The Palestinian people should rise up and remove the terrorists and then I believe there can be peace.

American Mennonites had no clue what people in Russia or Poland were doing during WWII.

They also don't say HOLY SH*T or use the F-word.

DO YOU or your Mennonite Church believe in the Rapture?

I would be OK with leaving Israel in peace if not for the settlements. Israel isn't in peace. If Israel would chill and just not evict Palestinians from their homes, I wouldn't have a problem with what they are doing. And I have condemned Hamas. Repeatedly.

Work with Israel to help the people of Palestine who are obviously victims of terror leaders.

I don't think Israel is "helping the people of Palestine" by evicting them from their homes.

If you don't care about whether I'm gay or not, don't accuse me of lying about my sexuality. That's really ****** up.

Show where they are evicting anyone? No one has been evicted. What are you talking about? IDK about you being gay or straight.

Link where Israel is "evicting people" please. Thank you. And not some partisan link from Al Jazeera. A link that shows both sides of the debate.
Wow. The fact that you don't know about this fundamental basis for the current conflict shows just how uninformed you are. I'm gonna link a bunch of **** because I have no idea what you consider "partisan." But the evictions aren't just some partisan thing - it's something that everyone recognizes is happening, just that Zionists defend it.

Here's probably the best article for "both sides": https://www.cfr.org/in-brief/how-evictions-jerusalem-led-israeli-palestinian-violence

Wow. I didn't think you would bite the bullet on that. No, might doesn't make right. Wow. Wow. Wow.

What you call "evictions" I call disputed land in the West Bank.

"Disputed land" that's been lived in by Palestinian families for decades, damn must suck when you get evicted due to land claims from before your grandparents were born, huh?

If you want to solve the disputed land aspect, I agree with you but how can one negotiate with Hamas and Fatah? The Palestinian people should rise up and remove the terrorists and then I believe there can be peace.

I totally get why many Palestinians support Hamas. Frankly, Israel is taking actions right now that are destroying their communities. I might turn to a group that claims to fight back as well. Are they wrong? Of course. Do I get it? Yes.

He is talking about the litigated issue of a handful of homes in the West Bank that settlers are trying to take
it is before the Supreme Court and was the stated pretext for the Hamas bombs.

1. they couldn’t even wait for the Supreme Court.
2. Risk effect was a monumental disaster. Losing 250 lives and major infrastructure over such a small issue even if right shows the utter craven madness.

I know about sheikh-jarrah all too well and those are DISPUTED LANDS....who really has the right to them as post war Israel says they do. Who had the rights to Texas post the war with Mexico. The mistake Israel made was to allow people to linger. But again Israel is not kicking people out of their homes in Tel-Aviv and Haifa but Jerusalem is highly disputed land.

To me, the winner gets the spoils. Harsh, yes. Honest, yes. My parents came to the US because as Jews they had a very difficult time in the old Soviet Union. If the Arabs don't like being in Israel they should just leave!?!? Israel will not relent. The Holocaust is too close in terms of being a recent event and Hamas running Gaza is a non-starter. Israel will 100% dig their heels in.

We should do it this way. Do you believe Israel is 100% in the wrong here? Yes or no?

First, the land claims in question are literally from before Israel was a state. Secondly, the current evictions are not the first for the Israeli government nor will they be the last. I would defend my neighborhood too. **** you, you don't get to remove me from my home.

"Wait for the Israeli supreme court who has repeatedly sided for the government before you defend your home"
"It's just a small issue!!! Why are you protesting our government kicking you our of your home!!! It's just a neighborhood, it's not like families live there and have for decades!!"

Those aren't their homes. They lost the war. Israel won't want non Jews in disputed lands. Such is life. I don't 100% side with Israel here because they keep sending mixed messages but no chance I believe Israel is 100% at fault either.

Yes.

A lot of people are against the settlements.
one of your problems is an utter abdication of history and causes and perspective and stages.

the aggressors have been getting a taste of their own medicine by the settlers who might be legally right but whose actions are counterproductive.

the Palestinians are as much Hamas
as the German people were nazi.

My point is to leave Israel in peace. Condemn Hamas and Fatah.

Yes or no?
Nice backtrack, Mr. "No evictions are happening."

It's "disputed land" that Palestinians have been living in for generations.

Yes, Israel is 100% in the wrong. Put yourself in the shoes of the Palestinians here. You did nothing wrong. You and your family have lived in this home, your home and neighborhood for decades. And now the Israeli government is kicking you out at the barrel of a gun because of land claims that some settlers have from before Israel even became a state. What would you do? Would you back down because "Israel won a war decades ago."

What Israel is doing is disgusting and wrong. There is no "both sides." The Palestinian residents of Sheikh-Jarrah did nothing wrong. They are just protecting their homes and their neighborhood that is being STOLEN from them.

If you cared about history you would acknowledge that the pals rejected the just peace several times before the settlers started their thing.
it is just a distraction from the fact that the Palestinians won’t accept Israel and are still in the state of war started in 1948 - literally.
