If there were no salary cap, barracuda's pitching would be awesome. '88 Silver King, '08 Mordecai Brown, '05 Christy Mathewson, '88 Elton Chamberlain. There's $74 million worth of pitching right there.

I actually have not picked my McDowell yet and I was considering the 1994 version.
But to keep it simple I will go with 1958 Dick Stuart $1,674,385.
And cholatse can have the McDowell.
