There is no rule stating that he must notify anyone, therefore he broke no rule. SavoyBG has broken 2 clearly stated rules, therefore the commissioner, regardless of who it is, must ban SavoyBG to preserve the integrity of the league and himself.

Ok ya'll this is getting out of hand. If all of you aren't careful you're gonna have more drop out this season bc of all this drama.
I am going to be as subjective as I can here.
As sad as it is, Ouchdamn, Amerk handed the reigns to Rift who I have full confidence in! Cant stop the draft now, that was his decision.
Also this was Amerk's
league. If he wanted to leave anyone out of the smail list telling people about the league for his own reasons that's his prerogative. No compromise of integrity there.
Also, YEARS of being in this league has shown me every indication that Amerk conducts a fair lottery and anything to suggest otherwise is baseless.

BUT look at me adding fuel to the fire lol I just felt the above needed saying.

My point is lets all take a chill pill and just post draft picks and talk basketball on here from now on ?? And remember were all here to play imaginary fantasy basketball, lets not take all this so seriously.

Also, if you have anything to say in response to the above statements feel free to message me directly other than filling the thread here.

Riftonapple it may be a good time for you to take over as commissioner, Amerk has stated he’s working 10 hrs/day. I’ll try to get Amerk to keep his teams in the league. Clearly savoyBG has been harassing the commissioner for a number of seasons, this a clear violation of the rules. The commissioner ask savoyBG to stop, and savoyBG continued with his attacks on the commissioner. So if savoyBG will not stop his negative editorials would you please ban him. That way Amerk (who we owe a huge thanks) will keep his 2 teams. I’ll take over the 22nd pick team, being as I have the 21st pick also. Note…I did not attack the commissioner because I didn’t like my draft pick.

Being as we are off the clock I will hold off on my #21 pick while we search for a compromise. Otherwise I will form a group of owners and stage a walk out. Also the name “Decade Draft League” belongs to the founder smokey57 as stated on page1.

Guys, it’s not a good idea for me to take over as commissioner for my very 1st time under the circumstances. I have reached out to Amerk separately and am working on a solution that would keep this league going without anyone being banned.

My proposal does require “snide comment restraint” going forward but it also includes me renting a BINGO machine complete with 100 ping pong balls and live streaming next season’s lottery while dressed up as Chris Farley’s living in a van down by the river guy.

I've probably been a member on this dumb site longer than anyone. (don't be fooled by my record as they made me change my id and I lost all of my history). I feel like it's time to weigh in.
  1. I find Savoy highly entertaining, but like a dog who eats his own poop. Because of that, I don't feel there should be any repercussions for his nonsense. In fact, I think he makes leagues more entertaining with his commentary.
  2. No one should question the integrity of any long term member that has wasted valuable life hours managing the chaos of these drafts. I've always felt they should get a free team from the site, but that's never going to happen. We should at least respect the effort and integrity.
  3. Politics has no place here. We have too many places for that bullshit. You can still not like other owners, but prove it with your records, not in snarky comments. That applies to both sides.
  4. Can we just stop the nonsense about walk-outs and threats? Are any of us excited about drafting ****** white guys that couldn't shoot 45%? It's barely basketball. Let's focus our collective hate on how gross this draft is. We're about 10 picks in and already I hate all remaining options.
  5. Hat's off to rifton - you have my support in whatever you want to do.
  6. I plan to win no matter what pick and have proved it in multiple leagues. If you can't win without a good draft pick you aren't a good owner. So man up everyone, and good beating me.

I agree. We have to start a clock or we will not even get started on time. We will use the above. I am concerned that, come tomorrow morning, someone may not have been paying attention and that it may be better for the balance of the league for the Commish to pick for them rather than skip over a 1st and possibly 2nd round draft pick.

Hear ye, hear ye! I propose that an owner may be skipped so the draft can continue but at the end of a round, if skipped owner has not shown up, the Commish and/or committee can pick the best available player fit for said team. The picked player(s) to be posted to forum and skipped owner(s) must accept unless they show up prior to the 1st pick of the next round to accept or substitute a different player.

This is typical redbooda. His pick window is usually 1 am - 6 am, if he doesn't pick then he 99 out of 100 times doesn't pick at all. BUT usually makes up the picks eventually.
He's a first responder of some sort and works weird hours.

SavoyBG please refrain from trying to run the league. The first round is off the clock and when it goes on the clock the time slots are 30 mins. Should riftonapple need assistance Thomcat or myself will gladly help him just like we did for Amerk. riftonapple really didn’t want to start as commissioner like this and asked me if I wanted to take over for this season. I’ve communicated with both rift and Amerk and in an effort to make riftonapples transition smooth as possible have agreed that we’ll move forward without banning anyone. Please help by sitting back and letting riftonapple run the DDL.

Hey, I made a suggestion and he went with it. Speaking of which, here's my proposal for future draft lotteries.

We take the next day's NBA schedule, as long as there are at least 5 games going. Each owner makes a guess as to how many total points will be scored in the entire league for the day. The closest guess gets first pick, second closest gets second pick, etc. Ties are broken by which guess was posted earlier, so you can guess the same number as someone else. Hooks (half points) are allowed in an owner's guess, which will alleviate some of the ties. Any owner with more than one team must have different numbers for each guess, even if they just add a half point to one of them.

This way we all get to determine our own fate, and there's no way for anybody to pull anything. If the NBA is out of season we can use baseball or football if we are near a Sunday.

So let's say there are 10 games, you might guess something like 2379 points for the day's schedule. That would be an average of 237.9 points for each game.

What do we think?

Okay, so amerk is still out for this season?

rift, are we using the timed picks as I posted them or not? If we don't use them we may not move at all today if redbooda is not around until 1 AM.

there is a reason the first round has always been off the clock, which I think is true for most draft leagues I've been involved in. has that reasoning changed? when was the last time rebooda responded to any sitemail? he may not even know the league has started yet. seems like you're trying to exercise your will with a new commish, but there are reasons why things have been done they way they were, and most of us have bought into those reasons.
