Gotta say I’m very happy with my draft. If this doesn’t work out, I can’t blame the board or anything but myself.

PG: Simmons/Rondo
SG: Curry/J West
SF:Ibaka/MPJ/Weatherspoon
Bigs: Tyson/Kessler/Plumlee/Bellamy/Yao

I think Rondo/Bellamy/Weatherspoon/Yao were about the best 9th-12th rounders I could’ve hoped for with my build.
2/29/2024 2:08 PM
Magic Johnson/Jameer Nelson
Danny Green/Andre Iguodala
Elton Brand/Chris Webber/Leon Powe
Dwight Howard/Deandre Ayton
Robert Williams/Steven Adams/Joel Przybilla
2/29/2024 2:46 PM
Chris Paul - Devin Booker
Zach LaVine - Jaylen Brown
Draymond Green - Jaren Jackson Jr - Thaddeus Young
Bill Russel - Moses Brown
Patrick Ewing - Kristaps Porzingis - Myles Turner

Evals have been assigned...

1-4 - midge
5-8 - dh555
9-12 - steelers821
13-16 - jcred5
17-20 - ncmusician_7
21-24 - notoriousj

Keep an eye out for them as they get released. Should be interesting - I can't wait to rip into robusk for copying my team from last season haha

PG: Kidd/McConnell
SG: Moncrief/James Johnson/Jamal Murray/Otto Porter
SF: Porter/Daniel Gafford/Johnson/Dan Roundfield/Paul Reed
PF: Moses Malone/Roundfield/Boozer
C: Jokic/Boozer

i thought the first four rounds went about as well as possible after nabbing Jokic. I think I lost the plot a little after that in trying to handle my situation at SF; I ended up with a bit of a mess there. I was happy to get Boozer where I did as a Jokic backup, though I had originally been planning to use that pick on more help at SF and then grab Blake Griffin in the next round as the backup. Murray was kind of a panic pick as I realized some of my teams (maybe all of them) weren't going to have enough perimeter punch to keep people from going -1 or -2 against me; that still is a big concern of mine. Defense is also a bit of an overall concern given Jokic in the first round. I should have some versatility to lean a little more into defense or a little more into outside shooting as needed, but probably could have done better in the middle rounds to grab some more premium minutes to capitalize on my good start.

I think this is definitely better than my team last year, but we'll see.

None of the names I post will look like a sexy rotation. My one-number metrics say this is by far the best team I've ever drafted (even without my last guy, but it's Oscar's backup, so plays less than 300 minutes per season), which is slightly confusing because I look at some of the aggregate stats and ask why. I think maybe it's because I started focusing less on efg% and more on ts%. I've always known my one-number metrics are imperfect (it'd be impossible to have a perfect 1NM), but it's been a pretty decent tool to aid in making decisions ever since I turned my Savage history around, so I'm encouraged by it. I definitely have too many fouls and turnovers to be happy about, and I'm sure I'll hit individual possession penalty sometimes, but I'm seeing good squads while just putting things together while drafting. I have not yet begun to do a deep dive into the team building process.

Loose rotation:
PG - Oscar/TBD
SG - Barry/Batum
SF - Boucher/Onyeka/AC/O'Quinn
PF - Mailman/Sikma/Kanter
C - Camby/Kanter/O'Quinn

I too am optimistic about my team. I'm going to attempt to compete with a combo of assists, defense and 3s. Nervous about my rebounding. Did not plan on spending 4 of my first 7 picks on guards, but when I saw Mr. Pearl Jam available, I went for it (originally was targeting Kanter, who would have helped solve my rebounding challenges). Between the assists, 3s and defense (a microcosm of my teams this year) & the flexibility to not needing any more guards, I went for it.

GL everyone.

Does anyone else constantly come down to a decision between Bellamy, Beaty and Mel Daniels? My guess is Rob hates all of them. But for the people who have a backup big spot left and need some usage which do you choose?
Bellamy is probably my favorite just because he’s got other seasons that can go as a decent backup big with lower usage. Daniels has the boards and Beaty is by far the most efficient with his usage, between the lowish tov and amazing ftr.

His rebounding is fantastic but man he’s got some warts.
