On the canucks.com boards there is a lot of talk about our 4th line being Glass/Bolduc/Desbiens.  Quite intersting.   A lot of people are upset that Morrison didn't get the job.  That is rediculous.  Sure if he would have accepted a cheap 2-way contract, maybe, but this line is exaclty what we need.  Good forecheck and punishing hits.  Should be sound enough defensively to not get scored on much either.  All this for a very cap friendly number.

It also appears that Torres will start the year on the 2nd line, with Tambellini, Hodgson, or Schaefer getting the third line gig until Burrows is back.

I'm not sure, but I belive the cap is still an issue.  Otherwise I don't see why they would not have just named the other forwards as well.

Another intersting player who hasn't been sent to Winnipeg yet is Lack.  Could his still being here mean that the Gillis is on the verge of dealing Schneider?

They're probably waiting to confirm that  Luongo has no injury issues in practice this week before assigning Lack. I would think they want Schneider's stock to get higher before dealing him (and also see more of Lack in action).

On another note, what about the Flames? Not content with resigning their own castoffs, they are now signing Canuck castoffs. Maybe they should become the Canucks farm team (farm....get it).  

i would rather sutter bring up a rookie than sign morrison, but morrison is still a decent player and better than picking up another goon.  as for the canucks, they seem to still be over the cap, but injuries might help with that.  they also traded o'brien today.  saved maybe $800K if anderson is on a two-way contract and will be sent down.  otherwise they only saved about a $100K.  what do you guys think of the move? 

and peter, come the end of the season one of two things will happen.  either sutter will be fired for incompetence, or else he'll be heralded a genius.  he likes to take risks, and he hates to play rookies.  tanguay's a great passer, jokinen's a big strong net presence, and i think morrison still has wheels.  in fact, a few years back morrison was the scariest player on the canucks lineup, IMO.  (and i haven't heard officially that we've signed him yet anyways).  only time will tell.  none of us expected pheonix or LA to make it anywhere last year.  :>

 Im not to big on the 2 Quebec guys making the team as 4th liners,they both have zero finish..I hope Rypien and Glass can provide the toughness we need  and stay healthy..at least  Hordichuk took care of Parros and that idiot in EDM.  Luongo still sucks.. I like Malhotra and Torres ,they both play gritty style and crash the net..we will have to wait and see?..oh yea  Losing O'Brien hurts only in the fact we are stuck with Alberts,for all his size he plays like a p#ssy. he needs to start kickin a$$ in front of the net ,put guys on their butts

Hordichuk for Peters?.. Hordichuk is a better fighter, but he gets scared easy of the big boys... Must have done the change cause of Ivanans and Big Mac solely to protect the much more skilled players... at least Hordy could hit though

randle, I saw a list of the projected starting roster for the Canucks earlier today and Rick wasn't on it.  My blood pressure instantly started to rise.  Is this true?
