gin is a fantastic and consistent HBD Gm and coach, anyone faulting his strategy must not enjoy winning.

Since we're fixing posts...this is now correct.

I have been in No Quitters since the beginning of the league and never had any problem with him. A good owner.

If this isn't occuring in other worlds, it just goes to back the fact that he was giving those deals because he never intended to pay them out.

Checked a few contracts in No Quitters. Nothing of the sort. At the beginning of season 4 , he offerred a 1 year contract to a declining 35 year old first basemam for $1.6 millions. This guy was making $3.4 mil. the preceeding season. A very normal contract for such a FA

gin, the problem is, if you leave the league in a year or two, your lack of signing young talent will screw the next guy to take your team. It is the same thing. And what is wrong with sucking up a couple of bad years to build a team that was, in your words, "**** in season 1"?
It sounds like you have gone for the quick fix as well. The only difference is that you claim you are staying and the other guy is leaving. Of course, he hasn't even yet. Jumping the gun a little?
What you say about him may be absolutely true, but you bringing it up and making such an issue of it is a little ridiculous, based on your current budget.
And lets be serious. people dump leagues for all sorts of reasons. Further, if people want to sign players to dumb contracts, I say, good for me and the rest of the guys in the league. And the next guy to take that guys team gets a challenge. What is wrong with that?

Gin, please answer this question truthfully. Did you think "thaceo" was this guys alias before you posted this thread? Please tell me the truth man
Yes, I really thought so.

My concern with dblaine was this post:
dblaineflying monkeys7/10/2007 11:56 AMwith jerks like you i can now change my budget stategy

coupled with the big contracts, and that I had heard from other owner(s) that he said he was leaving. I sitemailed him asking what he meant by that post, and he never gave a response.

Definately me the feeling that he was looking to make a short term run, and then bail.
